Misc. Areas

WHAT: Not every area in the dream world is categorized as a dimension. In the rural dream world, there are plenty of isolated areas that don't fall under the 'dimension' category because it is likely that these areas were not 'naturally' made. These areas can range from private residences, small villages, businesses, etc. In some circumstances, there are dimensions that are considered 'lost' or 'forbidden' and can be hard to access.

A 'lost' dimension is a dimension that has been lost due to being forgotten by the dream world. As humans begin to forget about a certain memory or collective dream, the dimension tied to said memory or dream begins to fade. Dimensions are tied directly to dream worldian residents and if a dimension begins to fade, their memory of where the dimension is located will also fade. This leads to a dimension becoming lost.

A 'forbidden' dimension is a dimension that has been categorized as a dimension that no one can access. The Council of the dream world issues a ruling that a dimension is off-limits because it is likely that the dimension is tied to extreme human events, is beyond repair, no longer worthy of maintaining, or for another reason. These dimensions are typically guarded heavily to avoid trespassers from breaking in. All violators are prosecuted.

Below are the current misc. areas that you can visit in the game. They are listed in alphabetical order; click/tap to open up more information on said area.

Almoral's Mansion

ADDED IN-GAME: October 2021

INFO: Almoral hasn’t been too fond of visitors to his mansion. To be fair, it’s been quite a while since he’s had any type of visit. The mansion itself has many rooms to explore and stairs to climb. While you may be curious to see what goes on in there, Almoral would rather you keep your hands to yourself. He keeps private information in his office, but that’s also where he’ll be when he’s brainstorming ideas. It is said that the land it’s on is cursed, but maybe that’s an old tale to discourage visitors. It might not really be a haunted mansion, but it is definitely strange, just like its owner. Lucid and Nate visited here in the mid-1940s, but it came at a price...

FUN FACT: The mansion map (both outside and inside) has inspiration taken from many places; Yorick’s Resting Place, Club Penguin, Roblox’s Haunted Mansion event, and other places. It was fun to build, but also very tiring and time-consuming! It began being built about a month before it was released.

Diner

ADDED IN-GAME: March 2022

TYPE: Lost dimension

INFO: At one point in its history, Dash's Diner was the most popular diner around in the dream world. As the years went on, customers would come in less and less, until eventually it became a forgotten memory and lost forever. While Dash, the diner owner, is eternally stuck in their own establishment, they do receive Lucid every two months when he comes to visit the dream world. In fact, Lucid is perhaps the only one who knows of its location, and has helped to modernize it, despite the obvious lack of customers. When Lucid visits, he brings along supplies to help keep the Diner running and keep Dash alive. Dash wonders if the Diner will ever receive customers on the daily again, but perhaps it's for the best it stays lost for Lucid's sake.

FUN FACT: This room was the most fun to build, at the time, and everything seen in it was built by me. Its inspiration stems from many images I looked at, with some original ideas.

Monochrome

ADDED IN-GAME: July 2021

TYPE: Forbidden dimension

INFO: Woah...this room is definitely different. Everything in here is black and white and it looks like there are people here that glow! That mysterious tombstone is also glowing, but it appears that maybe these people...statues...are trying to summon someone. This dial seems to be the summoning ground for said entity, yet so is the grave, and also inside the house. That glowing television feels off- maybe you should turn it off? And who’s that figure on the wall? What do they have to do with this place?

FUN FACT: This room is inspired by another Roblox game called Bear (Alpha)! There’s a level you can play in that game that looks similar, however, I tried not to copy it entirely and tried adding my own little twists. This room is important to lore as it is the home of Lucid...

Quartier Fantôme

ADDED IN-GAME: October 2023

INFO: Welcome to the Ghost District! This particular area is located in an undisclosed part of the dream world. All humans who pass away in the real world make their way here and call this place home. While not illegal to visit, it's a bit hard to get here. In order to get here, you'll have to know a secret entrance that takes you there, or of course, be a human in the real world and then die. Fun!

FUN FACT: This area was a lot of fun to build and is inspired by the French Quarter neighborhood of New Orleans!

Zamboli's Warehouse

ADDED IN-GAME: July 2022

INFO: It was around 150 years ago when Pietro Zamboli was a well known name in the dream world. A former sorcerer who worked with strange powers, he entertained the public with his puppet shows using marionettes that he constructed himself. This hobby wasn't actually picked up by Zamboli until his later years after losing much contact with his friends. The illustrious puppeteer has since passed, but he kept his materials and marionettes in an abandoned warehouse located in the dead of nowhere. It's been untouched for around 20 years because they say Zamboli's spirit haunts the place, and no one dares disturb him.

FUN FACT: This is the first secret room portal that isn't a dimension, per se, but rather a remote location in the dream world.
