COUNCIL OVERRULES DPF, ALLOWS HALLOWEEN TO PROCEED

In an extremely rare move, the Council of the dream world has overruled a recent DPF decision.
Last Tuesday, the DPF announced that it would be ordering all Halloween events to be suspended indefinitely due to the Neapworm outbreak. The decision came to many as a shock, with many suddenly taking into account the severity of the situation.
However, the following day on Wednesday, the Council held a vote to overrule the DPF’s sudden decision. The vote was 4-3, according to the official record that was published soon after.
It is very rare for the Council to overrule the DPF, which is essentially an arm of the Council. The last time the Council had overruled the agency was in 1998, following a dispute over a dimension becoming lost; before that, it had overruled the agency in 1930, following a dispute over an investigation into Lucid’s activities.
Overrulings are extremely rare, indeed, but this decision is also bizarre. Leading DDCP officials agree that suspending Halloween activities this year due to Neapworm is essential to protect public health, and the DPF went on board with the idea after several of its members began falling ill to it.
It’s a bit strange that the Council has overruled a decision implemented to protect public health. Halloween is indeed a special holiday in the dream world, but it’s not known if the Council put the holiday as a priority over people’s health.
“It’s weird,” a local passerby says, “Morpheus knows why the Council decided to do this, but it feels pretty dirty…”
“The Council is wrong for this. Neapworm is awful,” Eliazar, acting leader for the DPF’s Rescue Ops Team tells me, “I hope they realise that they made a very bad mistake. I wish I could say more, but just know that it’s serious.”
Others think it’s a good idea since it means they’re scheduled Halloween plans can go to plan.
“Whatever, I think it’s great that they overruled what the DPF said,” a local pumpkin man says, “Halloween is and always will be the greatest holiday ever!”
“HA! In your face, DPF! I knew the Council was going to come in clutch to overrule them,” Almoral, a local necromancer tells me, “Halloween deserves to always be celebrated. Besides, only babies are afraid of some silly little zombies, hehe.”
However you feel about this ruling, it’s without a doubt that Halloween will be overshadowed by Neapworm this year. The DDCP is still responding to incidents, but they warn we haven’t peaked yet.
“Cases are still going up by the day- we’re nowhere near the peak,” Ophelia, Neapworm Response Coordinator tells me, “Unless we find that source and a cure, we’re toast!”

HALLOWEEN’S ANNUAL RETURN TO THE DREAM WORLD

Halloween has returned to the dream world, and many dimensions have been spookified!
The Dimension Guided Tour Association, or DGTA, has listed a few dimensions and spots to check out during the Halloween season. Please be advised that their tours are limited due to Neapworm, but will try to give tours when safe to do so.
Cinema: The Cinema dimension is screening horror movies until the end of the Halloween season. If you’re looking for a fright flick, you can head there!
Club: The theme for the Club this year is “Dance ‘til your dead” and we hope that they don’t literally mean that!
Home: The Home is once again giving out candies for those who are trick-or-treating. Even the snow here is orange!
Mall: The Mall is actually closed for the Halloween season this year due to Neapworm. There’s nothing interesting there going on, but we thought to let you know.
Patch: During the Halloween season, the Patch becomes a little strange. This year, it’s become strange again!
Stage: The Stage is hosting its annual performances of “The Great Pumpkin” which is inspired by a real-life human television program. Feel free to check it out!
Neighborhood: The Neighborhood is back and so are all the tricks and treats being handed out. Ring on a doorbell and see what awaits you…
Hallway: As usual, the Hallway has changed into its seasonal Halloween counterpart. Let’s just hope no one wants to play with us here.
Exorcist: Taken straight out of a horror film, this dimension is back and it’s bringing its creepy, sinister vibes with it!
Forest: If you feel like camping this year for Halloween, the Forest is back and its just as creepy as always. Would you sleep out here?
Campfire: Similar to the Forest, the Campfire is back where you can get together with others and sing songs or tell spooky stories. Let’s gather around the campfire and sing our campfire song…
Backrooms: We don’t know what happened or if you really want to visit, but the Backrooms have been darkened for some reason, making it more creepy. Let’s just call it the Darkrooms.

Hello Bona! Why, yes, I am! Did you know that I’m a pretty good cook? I mean, I don’t wanna toot my own horn or anything, but I can make some pretty mean dishes. Hehe, actually, I’ll be honest: a lot of my cooking comes from reading books (boo) but that was when I had Lucid around! He helped me make a lot of new recipes- including pumpkin pie! I guess you can say I’ve become a master chef~
Dear Almoral, why do you like collecting skulls and are they real?

Hello Kelly! Well, the answer is obvious… It’s because they’re so cool! Let me tell you, collecting skulls isn’t just a hobby. It’s a passion! I have a whole collection of them, with different colors, designs, and shapes and sizes! Last year, I even got a skull that glows in the dark for Christmas! The skulls are mostly fake though, so don’t be creeped out! I just wish Lucid could see all my cool skulls!
Dear Almoral, why do you dislike the DPF?

Hello Noah! Ugh, the DPF. They are the fun police, and that sucks! I’ve gotten in trouble with the DPF on a number of occasions, but for the most silliest things?! Okay, why are they coming to knock on my door because they saw I was trying to look up information on Lucid? Are other people just not interested in Lucid? Also, sometimes I get into arguments with people in public who I hear talk badly about Lucid. I stand by this: Lucid did nothing wrong!!! They always let me off with a warning though, because this hunk of a man uses his charms and good looks to get off the hook, hehe~

Dear Almoral, did you really build your mansion yourself?

Hello Bob! There are mixed rumors saying that I built my mansion myself, but to be honest… I actually had a crew do it for me! When I saw that this land was for sale and it was in the middle of nowhere, with spooky trees, spooky fog, and spooky sounds, I had to buy it! It was cheap too! The mansion itself took an entire year and a half to build, but they did a good job on it! I was told that the land itself is cursed, whatever that means, but I just think that adds to the spooky factor. Lucid said my mansion fit my aesthetic, but if you ever want to stop by, just let me know! I will be so glad to give you a tour!

Hello Fay! There’s no other better dimension than the Market! I always like going to the Market because they have lots of different stalls there that sell different things! It’s always a lot of fun looking at all the interesting things they have there- I like getting some of my skulls there! I’m practically a regular there at this point and whenever they see me, they get so excited to see me there (at least, I hope that’s excitement…)! All the little trinkets, gadgets, potions, and other things are so much fun to look at, and I can often find things I need here. Huh? Why yes, I do make sure to pay for them! Hehehe….well, some of them at least…but shh let this be our secret~
Dear Almoral, what would you like more than anything else in the world?

Hello Bea! Well, that’s a pretty easy question: Lucid! Hehe, well, I think it’s obvious, don’t you think? The history I have with Lucid is…well it’s a little murky. I made some mistakes in the past and I don’t like to say that I’m proud of them. Lucid is seriously the best person I’ve ever met; he’s cool, smart, kind, patient, collected, gentle, oh and cute too, hehe. I just feel so guilty knowing I cursed him, but he made me! I just want him to come back so I can uncurse him and we can work out the things that drifted us apart all these years. I don’t even know if he misses me too, but I do know that he’s out there somewhere. If Lucid and I ever get the chance to see each other again, well one, I’ll be super duper happy, but two, I’ll tell him that I want to apologize for everything I did and that I wish we could start over again in better circumstances. I don’t know when that day will be, but reunion will come someday, I hope.
