CELEBRATION HELD WITH CAKE, BALLOONS, AND MORE

By: Porter

Hello Tribune readers! This is not your average newspaper edition. To start off, I'll be breaking the fourth wall for this edition because there's much to celebrate!

Biz Mart officially turned two years old last Sunday! An Anniversary Party has been thrown for such an occasion! There are a lot of things to see during the event, so let's break it down so it's not too hard.

To begin, the Backrooms have been given a makeover! Dubbed temporarily as the "Partyrooms", it is the main location of the event! Here, you will be able to find lots of goodies and portals to other dimensions. A few seasonal dimensions have returned, including the Graveyard, Gingerbread, and Trail dimensions! Also, a strange portal has been opened that takes people back to the height of the NEAP-1 outbreak! You can go back and see it how unfolded!

A few regular dimensions have been decorated for the occasion too. Let's start off at the Cafe! This dimension has been given a makeover with cake and cupcakes being served, but let's not forget to pick up an ice cream here! The Cafe's book room is also decorated a bit, and you can see special items from the past in here like last year's anniversary balloon and torch, and of course, the rare Beta Balloon!

The Club has also been given a makeover. The dance floor and lights are coloured in this year's anniversary theme, and there's a free balloon here for you to pick up! And of course, the disco ball is back!

Lastly, the Gallery has a makeover, but it also has a new exclusive exhibit! The Exhibit of Time returns this year, and it's a trip down memory lane! Head down through the portal and look back on the events and memories that made up year two of Biz Mart. Which part of the exhibit is your favourite? And if you're feeling hungry, there is also free pizza being served here!

Of course, there are more surprises for you to check out, so come on down! You have been formally invited to come to this year's anniversary party- just be sure to bring your best outfit and smile along!

‘A DYSTOPIAN NIGHTMARE’ EXPLAINED

By: Arial

With missing books being the talk of the dream world in recent weeks, many have been wondering, what exactly is that one book the DPF keeps mentioning?

‘A Dystopian Nightmare’ has been cited by the DPF as the location to where all the missing books are going to, but what’s all the fuss about it anyway? I managed to get a copy of the book itself to see for myself.

The book is two books in one: 1984 and Fahrenheit 451. The book begins with Fahrenheit 451 and once that book ends, it transitions into 1984. Both books are dystopian science-fiction novels from the 20th century with different plots, but similar ideas.

There’s much to digest from both books as there are a lot of key things to know and learn from them. In Fahrenheit 451, that society has completely banned all books. All books are burned and prohibited. Though, people in that society stopped reading books on their own after they were banned. The reason is that books are seen as dangerous with their conflicting ideas, plots, and storylines. With no books around, people won’t feel uncomfortable with their contents and life is well, supposedly. Firemen don’t put out fires in this story, but rather they start them.

In 1984, the world of Oceania is ruled over by Big Brother and his thought police. There is a lot of propaganda being fed to its citizens and lots of lies being passed off as truths. You are told what to do and believe by the Party and anyone who doubts them are considering criminals. The idea of a government massively surveillancing its citizens as ‘Big Brother is always watching’ you. Now, Big Brother himself is the subject of debate. Whether or not he’s an actual person or someone made up by the Party is your opinion, but fear here is what keeps citizens in line.

Now put both books together and you got yourself a dystopian world. It’s hard to imagine how things in this world are, but one can only assume that it’s a nightmare- hence this book’s name. I understand why the DPF did not want to intervene as it would be very dangerous and risky to even attempt such a mission. Let’s just be glad we have more freedom here in the dream world to not ban books and live in constant fear of being watched all the time…what a nightmare!

Q/A: Ask the main cast

What was your favorite moment within the last year?

Nate: I really liked having to solve the case of the mysterious pumpkin pies that were getting people sick! Plus, it helped me amend things with Almoral! Since then, he likes to stay in contact with me and share funny pictures or to talk about Lucid, hehe.

Fig: My favorite moment was when the Backrooms went pink for Valentine’s! It was very lovely!

Telly: Well it must have most definitely been getting the chance to help out during the holidays when everyone was deemed naughty! It’s nice to know I had a hand in being of assistance!

Cal: Finding out everybody who got sick of ‘em pies got cured of it. Can’t believe they tried to frame me for such a thing!

Almoral: Oh oh! I know this question! I’m gonna say…hmm… Oh! Can I have two moments? Okay, first is saving halloween and the dream world from those boring pies. Second, cleaning up the Box dimension mess! Hehehe, of course, I couldn’t have done it with some awesome friends!

Porter:  I’m going to say that joining an investigation to solve the case of the pies was my best story last year! Or perhaps getting the chance to report on the historic confirmation of a chief in the DPF…there’s a lot to choose from!

Epsilon: Getting to visit Wonderland was a very entertaining experience for me. It made me realise a lot of things, but I’m glad I got to meet and bring Willy back home.

Rainier: Well saving Christmas was definitely the best moment of mine in the past year! I really hope we don’t see that again during this upcoming December, but in any case, we already know the solution to the problem! I can’t believe they didn’t see that before!

Cirrus: The winter storm in January was my favorite moment. Granted, although it was excessive, it was actually oddly satisfying watching the snowfall and blanket the ground. It was a winter wonderland really!

Dylan: Wonderland!! I can’t believe we went into a whole book and met some funky people! Getting to bring Willy back was fun, and Epsilon and I do visit the little guy from time to time!

Sylveran: Hmph, I’m just happy we got everyone off the naughty list in December. It was truly a disaster that everyone got on the naughty list, especially me. I have done no wrong, so let’s keep it that way this year.

M3-0W: Getting to go into the Box dimension again was my favorite moment! It is good to know that my memory on the Box dimension is still intact and I haven’t lost my sense of direction there at all. I wonder if we’ll go back next year?

Willy: When Mr. Rabbit and Mr. Cat got to bring me back to Wonderland, it was a lot of fun! Mr. Cat let me ride on his back and Mr. Rabbit was funny to talk to! I’m really glad they still visit me to have tea and play!

Ophelia: Successfully solving the case of NEAP-1’s origins was satisfying to do. Our team put our heads together for that one, and I’m glad all of that is over. Now that I am chief, I’ll do everything so something like this won’t happen again.

Finnegan: Well…let me think… Got it! It was nice of everyone to have me tag along in saving Christmas! As leader of the rescue operations team, it is my duty to save the dream world in whatever way possible. Saving Christmas was one of those duties!

Kodia: Although my time in the story is short, it was a lot of fun getting to volunteer alongside the DWPS in collecting weather data! I guess I can add weather knowledge alongside my forest ranger knowledge now! I hope Miss Cirrus is impressed!

Lucid:  My favorite experience in the past year would have had to have been the moments where the dream world was saved from potential disaster by people who care much about it. Although the people of the dream world turned their back on me, I still wish them the best and I wish the dream world the best, always.

Is there an event you’d like to see in the future?

Nate: You know, would it kill the writer to have some sort of carnival event in the future? Imagine roller coasters, a ferris wheel, and lots of concession stands! That’d be so cool!

Fig: I’d love an event in the Backrooms! Some sort of exploration in there where we discover something cool we haven’t seen before! I wanna see that!

Telly: An event where we can get to channel surf! We would get to travel through the dream world while also stopping by television shows and taking part in them! A jolly good show!

Cal: I’d love to see an event where none of y’all get into my maze of corn!! Sick of trespassers!

Almoral: Um…oh dear writer of the story, would it be too much trouble if we get an event where Lucid comes to visit me? I mean, no pressure! It’s just…it’s something the audience wants to see. And of course, by audience, I mean yours truly- the awesome and amazing and handsome necromancer- Almoral!

Porter: I think it would be informative to have some sort of event involving investigative journalism. Maybe we crack down on some shady business going on and make it the biggest story of the year! Wouldn’t that be incredible?

Epsilon: Honestly, a music festival would be great. Different rooms could be different genres of music with decorations and stages to perform. I would love to see that.

Rainier: How about an event where we reenact a story or something? I vote for ‘A Christmas Carol’ or even ‘A Visit from St. Nicholas’ if that isn’t too much to ask for!

Cirrus: A weather related event where we go into a storm and take weather data directly from the heart of it! We’d have to be safe, of course, but it would be an intense adventure!

Dylan: Something with the postal service… Look, this job can be boring sometimes, so why not have an event where we spice things up or something? I’ll give the details later, but think about it! Think! It would be cool!!

Sylveran: Just any event where Lucid gets arrested and it involves me capturing him.

M3-0W: I would love to see a futuristic, robotic event! Perhaps rooms get a makeover to look futuristic and robots help out! I would fit right in!

Willy: A journey back to Wonderland would be so much fun! Mr. Writer, please make that happen! We can have a fun adventure and see more of what this world has to offer!

Ophelia: Nothing involving dangerous diseases spreading around would be good enough for me. We cannot have another incident, and much less during a holiday.

Finnegan: Unpopular opinion, but an event where we get stranded in the woods or something! I’d get the chance to join and show everyone my survival skills! Of course, if Eli was there, then it would definitely be better~

Kodia: A forest scavenger hunt! Getting to know the outdoors more by having a scavenger hunt would be pretty awesome! Plus, you’re gonna need my forest ranger skills for it anyway, so why not!

Lucid: Hmm, I would have to say an event where everyone gets together to save the dream world. It is sometimes sad to see some of us not get along with each other, but if there was an event where we could look past that and come together to save the dream world from a common threat, then it would surely mend relationships. Of course, that might not happen, but I wish to see that one day.
