DIMENSIONS GO BLACK AND WHITE AMID GLOOMY WEATHER

After several days of rain across multiple dimensions in the dream world, a group of individuals have teamed up to bring an interesting twist to some indoor dimensions.

According to Artisan, a barista who works in the Cafe dimension, the plan was devised by several people who thought of a theme to fit with the rainy weather.

“You see, with all this rain, what’s the one theme that would make sense to go with the weather? A mystery theme, right?! I managed to convince a good chunk of people to help me paint some indoor dimensions black and white. Who doesn’t like a good ‘whodunit’ detective-like environment?” he explained.

Artisan goes on to explain that he did acquire the correct permits to do this, but admits he had some help.

“Of course, changing a dimension like this without permission is considered dimension tampering. I had to get a permit from the DPF to get this plan going, but I’ll admit I had to get some help,” he states, “I have a good friend named Charlie who helped me correctly convert the colors to their monochrome counterparts. After all, Charlie is used to seeing the world in black and white!”

While not all dimensions have turned monochrome, Artisan says to point to Liminal, where he posted all the information about this event.

“I posted all the dimensions that got color inverted, plus some suggestions of where to go! Might I recommend coming to the Cafe? All detectives do need a break, and what better than to order a coffee to go with a croissant while seeing the rain outside?”

This event is expected to last for two weeks and people are encouraged to get their trench coats, pencils, notepads and magnifying glasses together to better set the mood. While detective roleplaying is encouraged, actual investigations should be left to the DPF to solve, and should anyone have any tips, please report to the DPF tip hotline or to a nearby officer.

INTERNAL MEMOS SUGGEST RECENT EVENTS INTERCONNECTED

Recently leaked memos from within the DPF ranks are suggesting that the events that have shaken the dream world within the last few months are interconnected.

These memos, obtained by the Subliminal Tribune, appear to be relating all of the events together, but they are still inconclusive as to what is exactly causing them to happen. Each event is detailed as follows:

The freak snowstorm back in January still doesn’t have a concrete origin, but some evidence suggests that it was an act of immense power that would have required the work of several individuals. There are no credible leads, but the DPF is moving towards blaming Lucid for this, as one of Lucid’s abilities does appear to be the controlling of the weather.

The breakdown of the DPDS’ sorting machine back in February caused a mishap with postal material being delivered across the dream world. While this particular event does not have credible leads either, it is theorised that the machine was tampered with discretely. The technology used for the machine, while outdated, has a unique code that the DPF believes Lucid is skilled in and somehow tampered with.

Finally, the Box dimension leak is perhaps the biggest mystery yet to be solved, but there is some evidence that appears to suggest that the leak managed to get into the real world or perhaps it originated from there. While Lucid has visited the real world before, it is not known if he continues to do so, but if he does, it is possible he managed to cause a leak of the Box dimension from the real world, knowing the consequences would disrupt the order of the dream world.

All of these events are being secretly linked because they have one common factor: Lucid’s knowledge and past history is making him a prime suspect. There are no other people that the DPF is interested in, and Lucid is set to be the prime target for the blame. While no other abnormal events have occurred, the DPF is quietly acting to prevent the next one.

The Tribune has reached out to the DPF for comment but has not received anything back. It’s possible there is going to be a campaign against Lucid the dream demon in months to come, which will only further darken his image and reputation in the dream world, but time will tell if it will have any affect on him or some sort of conclusion to the mysterious events that have been shaking the dream world for the last few months.

Dear Cirrus, have you ever seen a tornado before?

Hello Roe! I have been witness to numerous tornadoes here in the dream world in the past, and to be exact, I’ve seen 8 of them! Of course, seeing them from a distance is safer, which is where I was positioned when I saw them.

Dear Cirrus, how is weather observed or forecasted in dimensions like the District?

Hello Monni! Some dimensions are very big for weather to be constant in such an immense area and thus require their own DWPS forecasting office. For example, the District has its own DWPS office that monitors and issues forecasts for all of the areas within the dimension. The District is its own special case, as advisories typically affect certain enclaves. In the Americas ward, you might get a Tornado Alert in the U.S. enclave, but at the same time, that specific alert won’t affect someone in the Brazil enclave. 

That being said, weather does also vary from ward to ward. There may be a heavy snowstorm in the Asia ward, but the Africa ward may be experiencing thunderstorms instead. The DWPS District office is in charge of monitoring every corner of the dimension, and their HQ resides in the Swiss enclave in the Europe ward.

Dear Cirrus, do you prefer warm or cool climates?

Hello Temmy! I’d say I prefer warmer climates. I do like rain, and I also don’t really like the cold, so you can imagine how I felt this last winter!

Dear Cirrus, what do storm chasers in the DWPS do?

Hello Hunter! These are the people who go out into the field to chase storms. Depending on the event, they would need approval to venture out into the storm. Such events include cyclones, tornadoes, blizzards, hail storms, and most other severe weather. They collect storm data to report back to the DWPS for study. This is a very risky job though, and they know the risks too! 

Dear Cirrus, what is this summer going to be like?

Hello Sandy! I’m not allowed to say what this next season is going to be like as of yet. However, the DWPS issues its seasonal outlooks on the first day of the meteorological season. These dates fall on March 1, June 1, September 1, and December 1. This means that the next seasonal outlook is this June 1! We do begin to tease what our forecasts are hinting at, typically a week before the outlook is released. Right now though, we’re focusing on the current rainy weather and thunderstorms being reported in the dream world. I’d say to come back next week to see what summer might bring for the dream world this year!
