SEVERE WEATHER ROLLS THROUGH AMERICA WARD
By: Roman
The Dimension Weather Prediction Service is currently on the scene in the America ward of the District dimension following severe weather that passed through the area last night.
DWPS storm surveyors are currently assessing damages after a confirmed tornado rolled through the west-central side of the U.S. enclave causing “moderate” damage. Surveyors say that lots of trees have been uprooted, and many small to medium sized homes have been affected in some way. The extent of the damage varies, but preliminary reports suggest an EF-2 tornado.
“In the dream world, we use the same system developed by humans to categorize and survey tornado damage,” Cirrus of the DWPS explains, “Based on the survey damage at this time, it looks like an EF-2 tornado passed through the area. It’s about ‘moderate’ to ‘considerable’ damage in terms of the scale rating.”
DWPS surveyors point to damaged mobile homes and some damage to one story homes as their current preliminary report is ongoing. Weather alerts rang across different devices once the DWPS issued its tornado warning in the area, and sirens blared amidst the impending storm.
“Once a ‘tornado warning’ is issued for an area, televisions, radios, cellphones, and other forms of media will begin to alert the public in that area,” Cirrus explains, “Sirens don’t exist everywhere, but luckily they did in this area of the U.S. enclave, so they blared out an alarm.”
The DWPS are the only ones at the scene. The DPF’s rescue operation’s team disaster unit has also been deployed to aid with possible injuries and casualties. According to Leader Finnegan, there doesn’t seem to be casualties at this time.
“Once the threat was deemed over, the disaster unit was dispatched to help out,” Leader Finnegan explains, “From what has been reported to me, it looks like there are currently 19 who were reported injured, but no casualties thus far. It seems everyone took the warning seriously!”
According to local weather stations in the area, winds were recorded anywhere between 115 to 130 mph (185 to 209 kph)- which match EF-2 tornado’s wind speeds. The DWPS expects their final report to come out in a few days, but are glad that no extensive and more devastating damage occurred.
“Tornadoes are common in this area of the U.S. enclave so the residents there know to be vigilant during strong thunderstorms,” Cirrus explains, “It’s a good reminder that as widespread thunderstorms affect much of the dream world, they can become severe and tornadic. Always listen to the latest forecasts!”
Clean up crews and residents are working together to get back to normal, but many are lucky and grateful it wasn’t much worse. Still, thunderstorms will continue across the dream world for at least another two weeks. The DWPS advises the public to continue listening to them, as well as local officials.

THE ODDITIES AROUND THE DREAM WORLD
By: Porter
Hello fellow Tribune readers!
This week, I will be discussing some of the curious oddities around the dream world. While strange anomalies have been happening for the past year, this article won’t focus on that, but rather some of more fun and odd things you may stumble upon!
The Laundromat: As any old laundromat, you can wash and dry your clothes in the machines as usual. However, it feels like clothes take a pretty long time to wash and dry. Maybe it’s better to buy your own machines and use them at home?
The Lab: Just like any other computer lab, you can work on your online projects, play games, or surf the internet as you please. For some reason though, all the chairs in here are mysteriously absent. For some other odd reason, no one’s bothered to put new chairs or find the existing chairs, so you’ll have to stand if you want to use the computers here.
The Station: They say trains might be some of the best transportation around, but you won’t find any luck in the Station. Those who don’t know will wait here for a long time for a train that’s just never coming. A train station where a train never arrives…how odd!
The Office: When you’re sick, it’s normal to book an appointment to the doctor’s office, but I wouldn’t recommend one from here. Appointments here often take a pretty long time to get to. Gee, it looks like things taking a while to come through seems like a recurring theme in the dream world…
The Lift: Lifts (or elevators) in the dream world seem to act kind of funny. You press a button, but there’s a chance it drops you off elsewhere. In the Lift dimension, it either takes you to a whole different dimension, or it drops you right back off at the Lift. I think the lesson here is to always use the stairs!
The Window: This seemingly never ending dimension is not really worth the visit. Rows and rows of windows that go on and on for what seems like forever. And why are there even windows here? What’s the point of having windows if they lead nowhere and you can’t even see through them?
The dream world works in very strange and mysterious ways. For newcomers, it’s a whole different world where it feels like the physics don’t make sense, but for those who have called this place home forever, it’s just another typical day in the dream world!
Q/A: Ask Epsilon
Dear Epsilon, do you enjoy the rain?
By: Rayne E. Skai
Hello Rayne. Rain is lovely because it helps me fall asleep and it also helps me focus whenever I am painting. Of course, I don’t like getting caught out in the rain, and I also do not like thunderstorms. Lightning and thunder don’t necessarily scare me, but I just find it annoying to deal with, especially when I’m trying to focus or go to sleep.
Dear Epsilon, what is your favorite music genre?
By: Poppy Song
Hello Poppy. I enjoy listening to alternative music nowadays, but I still have a thing for classical and jazz music.
Dear Epsilon, does your eyesight ever get frustrating to deal with?
By: I. Ware
Hello I. Over the years, my eyesight has gotten poorer, and there are times where I struggle with certain activities. My glasses have to be adjusted, or changed every so often, to accommodate my declining vision. I’m just lucky I have Dylan around to help me with certain tasks when I can’t.
Dear Epsilon, do you like watching anime?
By: Annie May
Hello Annie. I don’t mind watching anime series, but the mangas are typically much better than the TV adaptations. There’s just more content in the manga and anime series typically don’t capture this content and sometimes even cut it out entirely. Perhaps I’m biased since I like reading, but seriously, they’re better.
Dear Epsilon, how many other siblings do you have?
By: Pham Eli
Hello Pham. I have four other older siblings, with two girls and two other boys- I am the youngest. I can’t say I’m on good terms with most of them.
Dear Epsilon, what do you like about Dylan the most?
By: A. Speck
Hello A. One of the things I like the most about Dylan is his sense of humour and jokes. I’ll be honest, and I don’t mean to vent, but growing up, it was really tough always feeling like I was alone. When my family didn’t really pay attention to me, it was hard to smile. Meeting Dylan though, it almost felt weird to smile or laugh at all of the things he said or did. His humour and just having around really made life a little more worth living. And yes, he knows this.
Dear Epsilon, what do you wish for the most for your birthday?
By: Kay K.
Hello Kay. Ah yes, this old question. Well, like I’ve said before, I stopped wishing for things for my birthday for a while now. That’s not to say I don’t appreciate whatever my friends get me, but they don’t have to, really. Though, I guess a wish I say every year isn’t necessarily for me, but rather for Lucid. I just wish for things in his life to clear up and get better. It must be exhausting being someone like him, but if anyone deserves a wish, it’s my best friend and old mentor, Lucid.
Upcoming Events:
Now- Birthday Party: 227 doesn’t look too bad on Epsilon. When time ages you slowly in the dream world, you’d definitely stun…even if you’re over 5,000!
Now- Neighborhood dimension returns: A quiet little neighborhood…I wish mine was like this!
May 11- Room dimension expanded: A pretty famous liminal space picture is getting added to the game. Can you guess which one it is?
May 18- New rooms: More mini-rooms will be added to the map. More things to explore!
