DIMENSIONS REPORT COLDER THAN NORMAL TEMPERATURES

Feeling colder than usual outside? You’re not alone.
Several dream world residents have been noticing that temperatures out in the dream world have been colder than they normally remember it to be for January. The Dimension Weather Prediction Service recently put out a statement in which they acknowledge that temperatures in the dream world are colder than they normally are during this time of year.
As the peak of winter approaches, it is normal for dimensions to see more snowfall and colder temperatures, but one key thing is noticeable: snowfall rates appear normal while temperatures appear abnormal. The DWPS states that by this time last year, snowfall rates were beginning to tick upward as temperatures also dropped, but not at a dramatic rate. This year, things appear to be on the opposite end.
The weather service has been monitoring weather stations across the dream world as the peak of winter approaches. This season, they issued an ‘above-average’ winter forecast citing real world weather conditions and Francis as possible factors for such a forecast. As of right now, the season appears to be firing off, but with only temperatures being abnormal, it’s hard to say what’s going to happen in terms of precipitation.
“Many weather stations across the dream world are observing some pretty cold temperatures in multiple dimensions. Many places are close or already below freezing,” Cirrus of the DWPS says, “As for snow, well we’ve seen about average reports of it so far with nothing out of the ordinary. It’s still early to tell what exactly could happen within the next two to three weeks.”
Many residents have been bundling up while going outside due to the cold temperatures that many say is “out of the ordinary” and “a little strange.”
“It’s a bit strange that it’s colder than normal, but maybe it’s just going to be cold weather?” said one resident.
“As long as it doesn’t shut down the dream world then I’m good,” said another resident.
The DWPS recommends wearing warm clothing to protect yourself from the cold as prolonged exposure to cold temperatures can lead to hypothermia, frostbite, and other winter weather related illnesses. DPF SHIFTS FOCUS ON ARRESTING FRANCIS IN 2024

After last year’s discovery of the culprit behind all of the dream world’s anomalies, and the obtaining of DNA samples, the Dimension Protection Force is officially shifting its focus on finding and arresting Francis Robert P. Jackson.
According to a memo, the DPF’s “Big Six” held its monthly meeting to discuss ongoing affairs. Since this was the first monthly meeting of the year, this meeting primarily discussed a primary objective and agenda for 2024. In this agenda, the DPF is moving from investigating the causes and culprit of the anomalies to finding and arresting him.
In a press conference, the chiefs of the DIA, DPU, and IAA told reporters about what efforts they are going to do to try and find Francis as his location is still a mystery. IAA Chief Kamaria says that she is deploying extra undercover agents to gather intelligence of his whereabouts. DPU Chief Matías says extra officers will be moved towards the rural dream world where it is believed Francis is residing. DIA Chief Daiki says that he will be tracking down potential cases that arise from other anomalies that could occur this year.
“We believe that Francis is not in the District dimension but rather somewhere in the rural dream world,” chief Daiki says, “It is likely that he is hiding in some of the ‘dark’ corners of the dream world to avoid capture.”
“If Francis is hiding within these corners, we may also encounter other fugitives on the run,” chief Matías says, “We may not get Francis immediately, but we may end up finding others on our fugitive list instead.”
“And should we encounter other fugitives, we will bring them in for interrogation to see what they know about Francis,” IAA chief Kamaria says, “We will also have extra eyes and ears in the dream world to listen and observe any potential suspects that are abetting Francis.”
While these three branches will have heavy focus this year, the other half of the “Big Six” will also help out when they are needed.
“If any of Francis’ anomalies cause life-threatening emergencies, we will be there!” ROTU leader Finnegan says, “I hope the anomalies don’t cause any injuries, but you never know! We are always ready to respond should the occasion arise!”
“I doubt Francis will unleash some biological threat again, but I have instructed our agents to very carefully monitor any disease that appears to be causing any sort of outbreak,” DDCP chief Ophelia says, “I’m not going to let him cause another NEAP-1 incident. Not under my watch.”
“A crime scene? Yes, we will be there front and center to investigate any possible traces of evidence that Francis may have inadvertently left behind!” DFCU chief Vivienne says, “The DFCU is in possession of his DNA samples now and we have it behind lock and key. Francis better hope he doesn’t slip up!”
Regardless of what occurs, the DPF reminds the public to keep an eye and ear out as well. Should they see anything suspicious, related to Francis or not, please be sure to dial *1 right away or you can submit a tip on the DPF’s website as well.

Dear Nate, do people believe in conspiracy theories in the dream world?

Hiya Wadder! It feels like there’s a lot of things out there that we know about, but somehow still don’t. At least, that’s how some people think! Over the course of my life, I’ve heard a lot of strange theories about different things around the dream world. People like believing in wild things!
One infamous theory that I hear every now and then is the theory that the Council is not real! Apparently, some people believe that the Council was just fabricated by the DPF to have control over the dream world. That is to say, the real people ruling over the dream world are the DPF! It’s also said that the DPF is an arm to the Council and this only fuels that theory more. Is it true? No! The Council is very much real. Lucid has told me stories about them and I have no reason to believe he would be lying to me! Even moreso, it’s believed that Lucid’s infamous trial was all staged in a bizarre effort by the DPF to bring down Lucid in fear of his growing power and knowledge that could surpass us all! I don’t believe this either, as again, Lucid told me the details of the trial and I know for a fact that Director Ferekides really had great thoughts about Lucid! In a way, Lucid describes the director as a father figure to him. I doubt the DPF did this all for show!
Another theory I’ve heard is the true reason why people aren’t allowed to visit the real world. Everyone knows that visiting the real world is the highest rule in the dream world and is extremely illegal and prohibited. The real world is dangerous to dream world residents in the sense that humans could hurt them or perhaps they get themselves hurt if they venture up there. Also, you lose all communication to the dream world once you’re in the real world, so you’re in big trouble! So what’s the theory? It’s speculated that the real reason people can’t go to the real world is because there’s something up there that the Council is hiding and doesn’t want us to see. Could it be that humans actually get along with us? Technological advancements so incredible that we’re seen as far behind humans? Aliens?! Well, none of this is true. There is a very minute group of people who have access to the real world and have constantly denied those claims. Then again, what if they are lying…? No, I don’t think they are! It’s just another silly theory.
I don’t know if I believe in theories like that. Sure, they might be fun to think about, but you always have to look at the facts! Do you believe in any theories about the dream world? And just to let you know, I am very much real!
Dear Nate, how exactly does time work in the dream world?

Hiya Kloch! Ah, time, what a great construct! Created by humans as a form of keeping track, time in the dream world shouldn’t really matter. However, we too need to be organized while keeping track of the seconds, hours, weeks, and years that go by. Luckily, we have a solution for that!
The dream world operates under something called “Coordinated Universal Time” or UTC. In the real world, this invisible line is essentially halfway between all time zones there that can be used as the standards for all the other zones. Because of this, the dream world is able to set a uniform and consistent time and date for all dimensions across the dream world! Whether it’s five o’clock at the Island or five o’clock at the Motel, it’s still the same!
There are some problems with this though. Unlike the real world, the dream world does not have a day or night cycle. This means that while it may be “midnight” at the Plaza, it might be “noon” at the Pool despite it being the same universal time! Dimensions work differently in terms of day and night depending on where you go, but the time and date will always be the same!
And how do we format time and date? The date is formatted typically as MMDDYYYY, so we would say December 31, 2023 or 12-31-2024. As for time, we go from 0 to 23 for the hour and is formatted as XXh XXm; so for example, if it’s five o’clock in the morning, you would say 05h 00m or if it’s twenty past 8 o’clock at night, you would say 20h 20m.
Time can be a little confusing in the dream world, but I hope this helps you out in any way! As a reminder, it’s important to always carry some form of time-tracking device on you. Whether it be a watch or your own cell phone, it’s important to stay up to date- pun very much intended!
