FREEZING TEMPERATURES AFFECTING MUCH OF DREAM WORLD

Bundle up, dream world, it’s cold outside!
It appears as if a giant wave of cold air has hit much of the dream world. According to the Dimension Weather Prediction Service, many dimensions have been hit with this cold air that has resulted in various locations to go below the freezing mark. The weather service says that models had been hinting at colder than normal temperatures, but it appears as if many locations will see temperatures that are colder than has been historically seen.
The DWPS has been monitoring forecast models for the past few weeks that were indeed indicating some form of winter weather anomaly that would arrive. The weather service had taken into account the last two winter seasons that resulted in a massive dream world-wide snow storm that practically made the dream world come to a halt. These two events have since been linked to fugitive Francis Robert P. Jackson, but the DWPS says this may be a new anomaly of his.
“For the last two winter seasons, we experienced massive snow storms that affected operations across much of the dream world,” DWPS Chief Kairós Tropos said in a press conference, “Since January is the peak of the winter season, it is likely that we are witnessing another anomaly that is taking advantage of this fact.”
While colder than normal weather is affecting the dream world, the DWPS says they aren’t seeing high rates of snow precipitation like the last two years. Snowfall rates have been steady, and while some dimensions are reporting snow, it is currently not a dream world-wide event. Still, the biggest concern appears to be the cold weather.
“We are not seeing high observations of snow as we did in the last two years,” Chief Kairós said, “It appears that we are seeing more of an issue of freezing temperatures when compared to snow. That being said, temperatures are much colder than other years. We will be monitoring this regardless.”
The DWPS will continue to monitor ongoing weather conditions in the dream world. They highly encourage access to warm shelter and clothes if you are heading outdoors. For more information, please visit their website for the latest updates and forecasts on any area.
VARIOUS SERVICES MONITORING WEATHER, POSSIBLE SUSPENSIONS LOOMING

With cold temperatures affecting almost every meter of the dream world, various services across the dream world could be on the brink of a temporary suspension.
Similar to the last two winters, there are services in the dream world that are monitoring conditions out in the dream world amidst the freezing temperatures. While most services can operate behind the scenes, there are services such as the Dimension Postal Delivery Service that have workers out in the dream world having to bear with cold temperatures. DPDS chief Kaige says that she is in contact with the DWPS and carefully monitoring the situation.
“It doesn’t appear like snow will be a problem for our postal delivery workers like last year,” she said, “However, freezing temperatures and icy roads could make deliveries a bit more difficult, as well as put our workers at risk. At this time, services are fully operational, but we’ll continue to monitor things to see how they play out.”
The Dimension Power and Energy Company, or DPEC, is also monitoring weather conditions across the power grid that supplies the dream world with power. Cold weather can cause residents to use their central heating systems on blast, and heavy usage could cause blackouts in certain areas. However, the weather can also cause a strain on the grid as icicles and other icy factors could knock out power lines.
“During heat waves and cold spells, residents tend to use more power than normal and that can strain the power grid,” DPEC chief Lumière explained, “Icy factors can also damage power lines and other sources of energy. We’ll also be monitoring the weather and the grid for any potential blackouts.”
At this time, most services remain fully operational, but should any organization face temporary suspensions due to the weather, we will publish those announcements on our website as they come.

Dear Nate, what are the dark corners of the dream world I hear about sometimes?

Hiya Krie! I’ve seen you’ve heard about the infamous “dark corners” of the dream world. You might think this is just some urban legend or some story to keep people away from exploring too deep into the dream world, but it’s very much real! However, are they actually corners of the dream world? I will explain!
The “dark corners” of the dream world is really a nickname given to areas of the dream world that are much darker and sinister than the regular parts of the dream world. As humans dream, many of these dreams can be collectively peaceful and be a part of a shared memory or experience. Of course, sometimes these peaceful dreams can turn into more scary dreams…nightmares, so they are called.
Well, there are areas of the dream world that represent these nightmares. Perhaps you may know them as “places you’ve seen in your nightmares” or the like. And since these areas are darker than regular areas, there are definitely strange and illegal things going on in these places. Of course, this is also where criminals tend to reside and hide from the authorities.
In areas like these, regular residents of the dream world don’t like passing by or visiting. The feelings of these dimensions are darker and more frightening. You really get a sense of dread going into these places! Back when Lucid was my partner in the DIA, some of our assignments had us go into these “dark corners” to track down suspects. Often, we would encounter very strange and intimidating people, but we’d always find our person(s) of interest!
DIA and DPU agents are typically the main authorities you will encounter in these areas as they may get dispatched after getting a tip or assignment to investigate activity. IAA agents will also be in these areas, but they are undercover and hard to identify unless they show you their badge. It takes a lot of courage to go into these areas, but besides the DPF, bounty hunters- like Sylveran- also tend to visit these areas often in search of criminals. Brave people!
I wouldn’t recommend going to these areas as they’re quite strange. It’s not necessarily easy nor hard to go there anyway, but you’re better off in a safe area where you may not find yourself in trouble. Who knew collective human nightmares could also manifest in the dream world? It’s not all nice down here…avoid the scary places!
Dear Nate, who’s the oldest person you know?

Hiya Elle! I know a lot of people from my time here in the dream world! Over the course of two thousand and five hundred plus years, I’ve met lots of faces and seen people come and go. I’m a pretty old dream demon! However, that’s nothing!
If you didn’t know, Rainier at the Pole is around 90 years old! That’s not really a lot if you put it into dream world perspective. My friends Epsilon and Dylan are in their 200’s, which is also not a lot! My friend Almoral is in his mid 300’s, which still isn’t a lot! Seems like anything below or in the 100’s is not a lot, but I know much older people!
Of course, there’s also Lucid. Lucid is older than me as he is past 5,500 years old. That is quite old! But is he the oldest person I know? Not even close! Chief Daiki is also a dream demon like Lucid and me. He’s older than Lucid actually! From what I recall, chief Daiki is around 6,800 years old. Dream demons in general can live up to thousands of years, so these numbers are nothing still!
The director of the DPF- my boss- Nikolaos Ferekides…boy, he’s much older than all of us…combined! I’m not sure of director Ferekides’ age, but considering he is one of the original big figures who helped bring stability to the dream world several millennia ago, you can assume he’s… old. Even so, is he the oldest person I know? Hmm… I don’t think so…
Perhaps the oldest person I know is Sir Timely! You see, Timely has been around for quite a long, long, long time- pun intended! It’s believed that Timely has been around since at least when time itself began ticking in the dream world. That is to say, Timely may have been born on the day the dream world was created! That is something quite crazy to think about. Timely’s age is also unknown as age is a topic they tend to scoot around. It’s always been a mystery, but Timely always says they’ve kept track of time for a long time, so who knows? Timely could be the oldest person I know!
These time and age questions can be quite surprising. Our own perspectives of time can be altered in the dream world as our aging process is compressed so we all live longer lives. If you think someone like Rainier is old, that may be your perspective, but the truth is that he is young whereas someone like me is ancient- in proper terms. Who’s the oldest person you know? If you say me, then I’m flattered to be that statistic! Just don’t make me feel older than I look… There are still some modern things I don’t really understand, hehe.

Now- Winter Party 2024: Not sure that we can throw a proper party with the weather being this cold. Freezing temperatures are affecting much of the dream world! Besides, I really can’t stay…baby it’s cold outside!
Now- New room addition: Some of the real world’s most famous paintings can be found in the dream world! The Gallery’s exhibit displays some fine works of art so you don’t have to go to the real world and travel far to see them in person!
January 25- Cold weather continues: Brr… How long will this cold even last? Someone light up a bonfire for me…
February 1- Heart Torch goes on sale: February begins on a Thursday this year! As a new month arrives, you can expect a certain lovely torch to go back on sale for a limited time!
