DREAM WORLD REACHES PEAK OF SUMMER

The dream world has officially hit the peak of the summer season.

According to the weather service, the peak of the summer season has hit, and this is as hot as it'll get! Temperatures across the dream world have steadily increased over the past few weeks, but with the peak finally here, one thing's noticeable: it's not a repeat of 2023.

If you recall the events of last year, 2023 was unusually hot across the dream world. A record heat wave struck the dream world and caused multiple weather stations to report record breaking temperatures. While some feared a repeat of 2023, this does not appear to be the case.

"I think the fears of a repeat 2023 summer should be quelled," DWPS meteorologist Cirrus said, "We've reached the peak of summer and things aren't as hot as we anticipated!" 

As residents feel relieved over the news, many have taken advantage of the weather and gone out to enjoy it.

"Feeling pretty good this summer! It's nice to grab a drink and sit by the fire after a long day," one resident tells me.

"This is good weather to go out for a splash! It's still hot, but I'll take this heat over last year's ridiculous heat wave," a visitor to the Pool told me.

"Thank Morpheus that you can actually do things this summer since the last one felt abysmal," a visitor to the Shore said to me, "Now I can actually build sand castles in the sand and not feel the heat on me."

The weather service acknowledges that it's still hot in some areas of the dream world, but it's not a dream world-wide situation.

"We've still issued heat related advisories in some dimensions and areas following some unusual high temperatures, but it's not something like 2023," Cirrus explained, "Just because it's not a grand heat wave doesn't mean you should still let your guard down. Play it safe!"

The DWPS recommends people to protect themselves from heat whenever and wherever applicable.

"Even if you're not under a heat related advisory, you should still protect yourself if you feel hot. Hydrate yourself, take breaks, and stay cool! That's important! We can all have a fun summer if we stay safe!" Cirrus remarked.

DFPS LOOKS TO HIGHLIGHT TOURIST SPOTS

The Dimension Forest and Parks Service has begun to hold guided tours through the wilderness of the dream world in an effort to promote the outdoors. In doing so, they're looking to bring attention to some peculiar areas along the way.

The wilderness of the dream world is a vast area of the dream world that spans many, many kilometres far beyond what the eye can see. It's essentially an unincorporated area with little private businesses and residences. Even so, there are various areas within the wilderness that are peculiar in nature.

"We're looking to bring light to the strange wonders and landmarks across the great outdoors of the dream world," DFPS chief Ahwi told me, "You see, the wilderness isn't just trees and bushes. There's also interesting sights to see and to explore. Oh and lots of history too."

Among the interesting sights across the dream world, there are landmarks such as Piedrosa Cliff, Toubiyon Falls, and the Walesky Impact Zone.

"If you feel like seeing history, you should check out the Walesky Impact Zone. It's full of craters, but there's one that stands out more than the rest. There's also Toubiyon Falls- a waterfall that doesn't actually fit the name. And if you're feeling brave, you can climb up to Piedrosa Cliff. It's a bit of a climb, but the view up there is marvellous." chief Ahwi said.

The chief says that it's recommended that visitors go with forest rangers as the tours themselves are descriptive and very informative.

"We want people to take the tours and learn a thing or two from our rangers," chief Ahwi explained, "You could always go on your own, but would you risk getting lost out there? I don't think so."

The DFPS chief also reminds visitors to pay attention to the signs posted around the wilderness. The signs posted by the DFPS give useful advice and directions for visitor's safety.

"Ah yes, I ask all visitors to heed the advice of signs posted around the wilderness," the chief said, "These signs are not only there for your discretion, but ultimately to keep you, our employees, and the wildlife safe. Please read the signs and don't do anything silly."

Dear Nate, is it true that a dream demon's tail behaves like a cat's tail?

Hiya Feline! So you've heard this rumor, huh? Actually, it's not a rumor…it's - for better or worse- true!

A dream demon's tail behaves similarly to a cat's tail. Sure, there are other animal species out there, but the closest resemblance is that of a cat's. Our tails typically react involuntarily to certain things around us, but can also be moved on their own voluntarily. Like a cat's tail, the motion of our tails can mean different things.

A good way to understand a dream demon's current emotions is by looking at their tail. Tails can give you clues to how we feel in the moment, whether it be happy, sad, mad, confused, and more! Are we feeling curious about something we saw? Or maybe we're reacting to getting a gift we always wanted…or maybe a gift that we didn't want. Are we feeling defensive and trying to warn you to stay back? Our tails involuntarily react based on our emotions…kind of like a cat!

That being said, similarly to cats, we don't really appreciate others grabbing them. Our tails are our property and it's hands off! Don't provoke a dream demon by grabbing their tail because you may be in a lot of trouble. Be mindful…our tails have a mind of their own sometimes!

Dear Nate, where's the oldest spot in the dream world?

Hi Wehrit! Ah, a history question! Perhaps you may not know this- and that's okay!- but the oldest spot in the dream world is actually in the District!

The District itself is founded in the same area where the earliest manifestations of human memories began. Basically…where the dream world began! This is a fact known to dream worldian residents, but it's a little misleading. It's true that the District is situated on the earliest and oldest lands of the dream world, but the Council actually sits on the very earliest and oldest land! 

The Council of the dream world sits on an island in the sky above the District. The land this elusive and mysterious body sits on is the oldest "spot" that the dream world is home to. If you didn't know, this island was actually located down on the ground but with a lot of power, it was moved directly above to float in the sky! In this plot's place, the DPF built its headquarters. So I guess both the Council and DPF HQ are situated where the dream world began!

This land is pretty sacred so it's no wonder the Council decided to use it as their home. Even so, it's also no wonder the District was built all around it as it holds so much history! It's believed the land itself holds some extraordinary secrets and power underneath it, but the DPF's HQ sits on this so no one can really dig and find out. History is really fascinating now that I think about it. And to think I used to find it boring…that all changed thanks to Lucid!
