DPF CALMS DOWN RUMORS OF IMPENDING ‘DOOM’

The Dimension Protection Force is once again denying rumours of impending ‘doom,’ at least according to various online sources.

Recently, there have been rumours circulating on social media, specially on LiminalSpaces, over the rumour that the DPF is quietly preparing for a ‘worst case scenario’ for the dream world. It's not known who started the conspiracy, but the DPF has responded to it.

“We are aware of a conspiracy being spread online about the DPF,” a spokesperson said, “Let me be clear, there is no impending danger in the dream world that the DPF is preparing for.”

Following the rumour spreading across the digital plane, various news outlets have also begun to report on it. While the news outlets are not confirming the rumour and merely reporting on its spread, the DPF says that it's not necessarily helping.

“If the news reports on it, people are going to think it's real even if it's not,” a DPF spokesperson said, “The media must explicitly state it is an unfounded rumour and that the DPF has denied any impending danger.”

The Intelligence Affairs Agency of the DPF states that it is investigating where the rumour began to circulate and is asking LiminalSpaces to squash out posts recirculating it.

“Our cyber unit is currently investigating where in the world this rumour even began,” IAA cyber unit director Irving said in a statement, “It’s not necessarily a crime to say what you want online, but circulating lies that could put the public in danger when there is no danger has consequences. We'll be looking into this.”

PARTY DIMENSION TO HOLD PARTY FOR FOREST RANGER

The Party dimension is expecting to hold a party soon, of course.

The dimension is known for throwing birthday parties to residents, but reservations must be made ahead of time with the Dimension Reservation Agency or DRA. If approved, the dimension can be temporarily used for special events- in this case, a birthday party!

Details of the party remain scarce, but it appears as if it will be towards someone who works in the DFPS. When arriving in the dimension, I noticed a DFPS forest ranger looking and tidying around.

“Oh hey there, are you here to throw a party?” Venny, the name of the worker said, “I hate to break it to you, but I'll be using the place soon to throw a party for a friend of mine.”

When asked about the friend, Venny didn't want to provide too many details.

“Uh, well, I don't want to spill too many beans here, but it is a very good friend of mine that I want to throw a party for,” he told me, “She is really amazing, but I want to keep this as secret as possible. You know, as a surprise.”

Venny tells me the Party dimension will be closed on August 25.

“The dimension has been reserved for August 25, so those not invited will be unable to get in,” he said, “I hope she likes the party. I mean, I think she will.”

The Party dimension is available for public access until August 25. It should reopen to the public on August 26 as usual.

Dear Adri, will Lucid and Almoral ever meet again?

Hello Will! Sometimes this question gets brought back up in discussion of Almoral and it feels like a running inside joke of sorts. Most of us are aware of the events that happened between Lucid and Almoral over 80 years ago, but that was then…so what about now?

If it wasn't obvious already- or if I hadn't said so yet- yes, Lucid and Almoral are bound to meet again in the future. The question is just how close or far into the future will said reunion take place. You have to remember that Almoral has spent literally every single day looking for Lucid around the dream world since the day he left. While Almoral goes out for his normal errands, he does use it as time to look for and ask around for Lucid. He's very persistent!

Lucid on the other hand is quite the opposite. He will tend to avoid bumping into Almoral on accident if he's roaming in the dream world. It's not that Lucid has anything against him, but Lucid is shy and a bit regretful to see him again. Their story is more deep than what's been told so far, but unless Lucid grows some courage, Almoral will just have to keep waiting.

The two are bound to meet again someday, but is it Almoral who finds him or is it Lucid who finds Almoral? That I cannot say, but I do know which of the two is correct and how it goes down. Secret!

Dear Adri, how did you begin the idea of the story?

Hi Howie! The story has been ongoing since 2021- isn't that crazy? It's one of those stories that occur in real time and you just have to play along as the months go by. So how did I come up with the story anyway?

For a while before the story actually came to be, I had been wanting to make a story about a world that seemed almost perfect- an otherworldly kind of story. At the same time, I was growing more interested in the topic of dreams. It was then that I was exploring various liminal games that got me thinking of an idea. A world of dreams where our memories and nostalgia come together to form a world that feels both comfortable and strange: the dream world.

Now that I had the setting down, I needed a plotline. Various ideas for the plot came to me with a lot of my personal interests. Personally, I wanted to write about said world dealing with a character that has undergone a lot in his life- things that were both fair and unfair leading to a double-life scenario. It would also include antagonists that were against this character and perhaps the world itself. Power is a great thing to have, but when you have too much of it, it can be dangerous- or so some believe…

Keeping the story in real time is nice because it helps me plan out things ahead of time without rushing. There is a conclusion for how the story ends, but in between the beginning and the end, there's a lot to read, process, munch, and enjoy. You sometimes have to read in between the lines and hope any theories you have are correct, but plot twists are also inevitable. You never know what will happen when I start writing away!

Dear Adri, can you give us some fun facts about the characters?

Hello Didya! Since there’s so many characters, I’ll do half of them this week and the other half next week. How about I give you three facts about each character you may not have known?

• Almoral: He owns exactly 358 skulls; he sleeps with his teddy bear; he can cook well, but prefers to order takeout most days

• Cal: The second crop he grows apart from pumpkins is corn; his pumpkins are grown year-round, but sells them during the autumn; his head is a real pumpkin

• Cirrus: Her clouds change depending on her emotions; prior to being a meteorologist, she was a student at the Academy; her body style flows similarly like the style of Chowder characters

• Daiki: He owns 5 black turtlenecks and 1 maroon turtleneck; he is fluent in 24 languages; he is left handed

• Dylan: Followed in his dad’s footsteps to become a postal delivery worker; he likes carrots, but typically only as juice; he sleeps on the left side of the bed

• Eliazar: Tends to work out at home, though occasionally uses the DPF’s gym; his hair is actually dark brown but he dyes it silver; he is easily jealous in regards to whoever he likes

• Epsilon: His name derives from the fifth letter of the Greek alphabet as he is the fifth and youngest child in his family; he sleeps on the right side of the bed; he despises lasers

• Figment: Always keeps the hood on at all times; Fig can only open portals to other dimensions/areas; Fig was born in the Japanese enclave of the District

• Finnegan: Finn is an early sleeper and an early waker; he actually has numerous scars around his body such as his chest, stomach and arms, but wears long sleeves to hide it; his ears are pierced and he wears piercings

• Francis: Francis was a smart kid growing up, but grew up as a loner with no friends; his goggles are the same ones he used during Project Morpheus; he doesn’t actually like being around kids

• Kamaria: Her powers come from the phase of the moon of whatever dimension she’s in; she’s ambidextrous; knows a few secrets about some heads of other agencies like the DWPS, DPDS, and more

• Kodia: She is able to play a guitar pretty well after learning when she was little; keeps a planner in her bedroom to help organize her day-to-day tasks; she can also speak Spanish well
