SUMMER WINDS DOWN, AUTUMN DRAWS NEAR

By: Arial

As we approach the final days of the summer season, it’s starting to feel a lot like the transition of the seasons.

According to recent weather data from the Dimension Weather Prediction Service, temperatures across most of the observable dream world have been steadily falling. Compared to a month ago when temperatures were hot, overall temperatures have begun to feel less hot with a slight hint of “crisp” air.

For those unaware, autumn is right around the corner. The Dimension Weather Prediction Service defines the autumn season in the dream world as beginning on September 1 and running until November 30. As it’s now the end of August which means the next season is upon us.

“We’re just about ready to usher in the autumn season,” DWPS senior meteorologist Cirrus tells me, “You’ve probably already felt it out in the dream world, though. Those slightly cooler temperatures? Yep! It’s the first taste of autumn!”

The DWPS is also preparing to release its Seasonal Outlook soon. It recently released an early outlook of the season that hinted at an “average” autumn season.

“Based on our early forecasts and model data, it looks like autumn will be average once again,” Cirrus says, “Of course, this is an early prediction. Things may change from now until when we actually release the outlook, but we feel confident about it so far.”

Cirrus says to stay tuned for the official outlook which is expected to drop on Sunday, September 1.

“If you love autumn, you may love how it’s looking so far,” Cirrus tells me, “Stay tuned! It’s almost pumpkin spice season, wink wink!”

LIMINALSPACES PLATFORM SQUASHES OUT MISINFORMATION

By: Oswald

The most popular social media site in the dream world has been stamping out misinformation on the platform in the past week.

LiminalSpaces is the most popular social media site which hosts around 2 million users each day. The site is known for posting and sharing a wide array of content ranging from news, updates, announcements, personal life, entertainment, and more. While the site allow users to post content as they wish, it’s been flagging user posts for misinformation in the past week.

In the past week, the IAA of the DPF asked the platform to squash out posts talking about the rumor of the DPF preparing for a “doomsday” scenario calling it “false” and “not true” at all. While the site has not necessarily taken down those posts, they recently implemented a new feature called “Reality Check” which serves as a flag for debunking false or misleading posts.

“We have recently added a new feature to the site called Reality Check,” a spokesperson for the platform said in an announcement, “The intention of this feature is to debunk any misleading or false information being shared on the platform that could potentially have negative consequences on the general public.”

The platform acknowledges that the feature is entirely new and there may be some false flagging of posts. Currently, they state that an algorithm is being tweaked to automatically detect potential misleading posts.

“Our current algorithm attempts to detect potential misinformation being posted on the platform, but it’s not perfect,” the spokesperson said, “Some posts may not be flagged properly and others may be falsely flagged. We’ll eventually make a feature to allow the public to report posts for misinformation for review.”

For the most part, posts regarding the “doomsday” rumor about the DPF are being flagged. Users won’t be punished for posting misinformation, but this may change.

“At this time, we aren’t punishing users for posting or sharing misinformation,” the spokesperson said, “However, if an account continues to spread it, it may be temporarily restricted or suspended entirely.”

LiminalSpaces states that users can post what they wish on the platform, but it does have its own guidelines and rules that the community must follow.

“We want to allow people to share and express themselves freely on the site,” the spokesperson said, “Yet, there are still community guidelines one must follow. Just don’t break the rules. It’s pretty easy to understand.”

Q/A: Ask the developer

Dear Adri, what is something that has surprised you about the overall story?
By: Iamin Shoc

Hello Iamin! Ever since I started the story, I think the biggest thing that has always surprised me was just how some people are actually interested in it. Like…you really like this?

Don’t get me wrong- it doesn’t make me uncomfortable, in fact, it does the opposite! I don’t really think I imagined people to actually become immersed in the story and characters. There are sometimes where I find myself surprised when someone likes a background character like oh! You like them and they’re not one of the main characters? That’s awesome! I find it nice that people have favorite characters outside of the main ones like Lucid, Nate, and Epsilon.

The story will continue to have new characters as time goes on, but I’m sure people will end up loving most of them as well. I’ll still be surprised if someone tells me they like a background character who doesn’t appear a lot in the story. Give everyone some love!

Dear Adri, what has been your most favorite area to have built?
By: Allotta Funn

Hi Allotta! I’ve built a lot of areas since the game began in 2021. Over the course of these three years, there’s been rooms that were a lot of time and pain to have built, but some have been quite fun to have built!

I think my most favorite area to have built would have to be the Diner! The Diner took about two to three days to complete, but everything in it was built by me! Whether it’s the booths, the counter, or the jukebox- it was all me! That room was a lot of fun to build and it’s quite amazing to look at. The only thing is that I’m ashamed it’s not public to everyone! It’s only available if you have the Box Artifact obtained during the April Fool’s Party! It’s definitely my favorite area to have built.

Other runner ups include the current Station design, the Drive-Thru restaurant interior, Almoral’s mansion exterior, the world of Big Brother, the Pole, the Quartier Fantome, and the Fair. What’s your favorite area in the game? I’d love to know!
