COUNT ANASTASIUS ANNOUNCES RETURN OF HALLOWEEN PARTY

It's official from our previous reporting: Count Anastasius has announced the return of his annual Halloween party!

Count Anastasius, who has long held a party for Halloween for half a century now, made this announcement at the gates of his mansion on Tuesday. Reporters and media gathered to hear what the wealthy vampire had to say.

“I have spoken with various friends about the state of this year's Halloween season and have come to a conclusion,” Anastasius said, “It is with great pride and excitement to announce that I will be throwing a grand Halloween party once again.”

The Count acknowledged that the ongoing quiet period in the dream world following the mishaps of notorious criminal Francis Robert P. Jackson allowed him to come to this conclusion. The Count is aware that some members of the general public are afraid that this year's Halloween season might be spoiled, but is trying to reassure people through his party.

“I am very much aware that some people are still anxious about possible anomaly events that could happen, but it has been quite a while since that,” Anastasius explained, “I want to show that the dream world is safe and there won't be anything to disrupt it. Knock on wood, of course.”

To further prove that this year's Halloween season will be safe, the Count also announced a rather bold change to the organising of the party.

“The rural dream world is and will be safe, and to prove it, I will be hosting my party in the Club dimension this year,” he said, “I have already spoken with DJ Techno and others involved in the process to allow me to host the party there. We are currently in talks, but things are looking quite good.”

The Count says that he will miss the party being held in his mansion, but expects it to be only this year when it is not held there.

“For this year, I want it to be a way to let everyone relax and enjoy themselves while feeling safe,” the vampire explained, “If I can prove to people that the danger is far gone, then I'm satisfied with the party not being in my mansion this year.”

GREEN FOG PHENOMENON RETURNS TO DREAM WORLD

No, you're not imagining it, but the atmosphere of the dream world is different!

The infamous “green fog” phenomenon has returned to the dream world just in time for the spooky season. The Dimension Weather Prediction Service has kept an eye on this phenomenon for several years now, and as predicted, it has returned.

“We’re always monitoring historical precedents in the dream world such as that of the ‘green fog’ that appears in October,” DWPS senior meteorologist Neige said, “It typically appears in the first week or two of October, though this year it appears it manifested sooner than other years!”

The DWPS explains that the ‘green fog’ phenomenon is a result of the various properties of nostalgia that mix in with the atmosphere of the dream world. In October, these properties blend in a way that causes the molecules and chemicals in the air to turn green in nature giving off the appearance of a ‘green fog.’ This is because of one of the nostalgia elements, terrentium, reacting with oxygen, carbon dioxide and other gases in the air. 

“Terrentium tends to develop in October and this reaction with the air of the dream world turns it green,” Neige explained, “Nostalgia has many elements associated with it and if enough humans have that nostalgic feeling for it, it will manifest. Such is the case of the ‘green fog’ phenomenon.”

Neige further explained that the fog itself is not harmful to health and perfectly fine to breathe in.

“Think of this as a cosmetic reaction,” he said, “It’s like adding food coloring to water to make it red and appear as blood when it’s not. It’s still safe to drink just as the air is still safe to breathe in. It is Halloween season, after all!”

Dear Nate, why do mysterious figures tend to peek around corners in the real world?

Hiya Eycan! So you’ve probably heard or maybe even seen videos of people in the real world who record strange, mysterious figures peeking around corners. They can include doors, hallways, corridors, alleyways, windows, and more! But why do they do this exactly?

First, I think it’s pretty clear that these are fellow dream worldian residents who are either visiting or stuck in the real world! Humans tend to label them as ‘paranormal,’ ‘supernatural,’ ‘cryptid,’ ‘ghost,’ and other labels. In truth, most of these are not ghosts, but actual ‘creatures’ who live or used to live in the dream world. So again, why do they peek?

Well we have to fit into their shoes so the saying goes. If you were far away from home, you’d be scared about the current environment where you are! Simply put, these guys are curious, but shy about human interaction. Remember, they are just as scared as you as you may be of them! They tend to peek around corners because they are curious about the environment they are in, but do not want to draw attention. Moreover, sometimes they may only appear on cameras rather than seeing them with the naked eye. It still makes for a spooky video or photograph!

A lot of these videos and photographs tend to make it to the dream world where fellow residents can see them for themselves. While humans mark these videos and photographs as paranormal, it’s honestly pretty normal for us! I think I would also be peeking around corners if I was stuck in the real world. Lucid did say it’s okay to be curious, though I guess while also keeping your distance and playing it safe!

Dear Nate, do people dress up for Halloween in the dream world?

Hi May! That’s a pretty good question! Halloween originated in the real world and has become a custom for humans to dress up as various things like ghosts, witches, their favorite characters, and more! So what about us?

In the dream world, we already have ghosts, witches, vampires, demons, and other kinds of species that humans like to dress up as. We actually like that humans turn us into fun costumes and find it entertaining! Humans don’t have any powers of their own, but if a costume makes them feel different for a day- go for it!

According to a survey from 2016, the average number of dream world residents who dress up for Halloween is around 40 percent. The other 60 percent do not dress up, though I think this is kind of misleading. You see, while over half do not “dress up,” they still get dressed well and pampered up on Halloween! Typically, these are the people who are already “in costume” such as vampires, werewolves, and other “monsters.” For those who are not in this category, they may actually dress up, but perhaps in costumes of characters from a movie, book, TV series, and more! I’ve seen a lot of character costumes being worn by all groups of people in recent years…it’s fun!

I guess you can say that it honestly depends on what you mean by “dress up” for Halloween. Whether it’s wearing a costume or just getting extra styled up on Halloween, people here like to partake in the holiday no matter how they can! I don’t personally wear a costume, but I do try to look extra good and perhaps a little spooky on Halloween! I wonder what I’ll do this year…
