FRANCIS ARRESTED, LUCID…RETURNS?

Hello fellow readers! The Subliminal Tribune staff has finally gotten full access back to our publication! Since our last edition, there have been several breaking news stories that have spread like wildfire on social media and through the overall news. First off, Francis has officially been arrested!

According to the latest reports, the Dimension Protection Force conducted a mission dubbed as “Operation Blackout” last Friday, November 29. In that mission, they were able to disarm a machine that was being used to alter the weather and cause the massive snow storm we just experienced. They also managed to rescue ROTU Leader Finnegan, who is in stable condition and should return to his regular duties soon. They also captured and arrested notorious criminal Francis Robert P. Jackson!

The DPF’s Detective Investigation Agency chief Daiki announced this alongside Intelligence Affairs Agency chief Kamaria in a joint press conference. While some details of the arrest are being kept confidential, they acknowledge that his arrest was swift and without any “bad ending” that may have arisen.

“We managed to rescue leader Finnegan and arrest Francis Robert P. Jackson,” chief Daiki said, “We could not have done it without the aid of fellow chiefs Vivienne and Matías, as well as agents Hallucinate and M3-0W.”

The news took social media by storm, with many people referring to the “de facto leader” as “de facto loser” on LiminalSpaces. However, this celebration was short lived as an unarguably more shocking announcement was made in the following days.

The DPF would soon thereafter announce that, while an unauthorized portal that Francis built was shut down, it was actually the result of the most well known, and perhaps notorious, dream demon in the entire dream world: Lucid.

This announcement sent shock waves, to say the least, around the dream world. Many residents were left in complete awe following this revelation.

“I just can't believe it. Lucid's back? He saved a lot of us?” one resident told me, “It's so…strange to hear that.”

“If chief Daiki saw it with his own eyes, who are we to say he's a liar?” another resident told me, “Maybe Lucid isn't out for revenge like we all thought.”

While Lucid is said to have shut down the portal completely with his own powers, many residents are still divided over his overall reputation.

“Even if Lucid did that, he's still a criminal,” Telly of the TV dimension told me, “Once a criminal, always a criminal!”

“Everyone's so hard on Lucid and for what?” local necromancer Almoral said, “He just saved so many people, maybe even all of us! He deserves to be pardoned and forgiven for what he did, which wasn't even a bad thing!”

The Council of the dream world has been notified of this, but the DPF has stated that any decision about what to do with Lucid won't be revealed until next year.

“I spoke with the Council, but they told me they would not have a definitive decision until 2025,” DIA chief Daiki said, “We'll be assessing our own options at the DPF. For now, let's move forward with our recovery and hope for better days ahead.”

SNOW CLEAN UP COMMENCES, POWER SLOWLY RETURNS

In more positive news, the dream world is starting to look less messy and lights are slowly coming back on!

In the past week, clean up crews have been hard at work trying to clear all of the snow that had made roads completely impassable for weeks. Alongside them, workers from the Pole have also been in on the help!

Rainier, Secretary of Christmas Affairs, authorized an order that allows workers from the Pole to aid in the snow clean up. Doing so has allowed the recovery process to be much smoother and quickly. Rainier states that Pole and non-Pole workers have managed to clean up tons of snow from the roads with no problems.

“It's amazing what teamwork can do! So many areas are looking much better compared to a week ago,” Rainier said, “Not all areas are cleaned up, but progress is definitely being seen! Huge shout-out to everyone involved in the recovery process!”

Elsewhere, the Dimension Power and Energy Company has been working hard to restore power to areas that were hit by the blackout. DPEC chief Lumière says that there is good progress being seen, but it will take a while for everyone to get power back.

“Right now, we're seeing about 84% of residents without power right now in the rural dream world,” DPEC chief Lumière stated, “Because some areas of the grid are more damaged than others, it may take extra time to fully fix the grid in that area. You're going to see some areas with power as well as some areas still dark.”

Chief Lumière explained that they expect DPEC to fully restore power to everyone before the end of the year.

“We're aiming to bring power back to everyone before December 31, 2024,” the chief explained, “DPEC is working hard to get power back ASAP to areas hit the hardest from the snowstorm. Please continue to report outages if you encounter an area still in the dark.”

Otherwise, skies across the dream world are looking a bit different. As the holiday season approaches, as well as the end of the year, dusk skies are taking over much of the dream world. This is leading to some very pretty sceneries.

“The sky is so beautiful!” a passerby at the Hills said, “It's quite a relaxing relief after all that snow. I love it!”

“Dusk skies are kind of metaphoric this time of year,” Mason of the Motel said, “While it's still dark here, the dusk skies represent the end of a day, but it also represents the end of the year. The end of a rather chaotic event. It's poetic!”
