DREAM WORLD LOOKS TO THE SKY FOR A LIGHT SHOW

 Attention all dream world residents: look up! 

An amazing sight is currently underway in the sky of the dream world. Auroras are currently being observed across the outdoors of the seeable dream world. The DWPS made a post on Liminal yesterday which stated that they believed that the appearance of auroras was "imminent" and for residents to prepare for their manifestation.

Within twenty-four hours, auroras were beginning to manifest across the dream world. The first few reports came from within the District dimension, particular the Europe, Asia, Africa and America enclaves. As the hours went by, the rural dream world began to see observations of the auroras as well.

"It was amazing to see the reports coming in from aurora sightings in real time," senior DWPS meteorologist Cirrus said, "For a few hours since the first few sightings, we were wondering when the auroras would manifest themselves into the rural dream world. Once the first report came in, it was rather exciting!"

Cirrus says that the auroras are coming in different colors depending on the dimension.

"Auroras are coming in different colors from what we've seen now and in the past," Cirrus explained, "Some auroras are emitting blue-purple hues, some pink-green hues, and others blue-green hues. It just depends on the dimension you're visiting."

Cirrus says that auroras in the dream world are rare events so an explanation for the variation in colors is still up in the air.

"Aurora events like these are rare so we have limited research on them," Cirrus explained, "Unlike the auroras during the holiday season, off-season events may lack explanation on a few topics such as the differentiation of colors and why it occurs. It's why we take advantage of rare events like these and study them as much as we can when they occur!"

Dream world residents are in for a lightshow spectacular for awhile, but the DWPS doesn't know for how long.

"The reports from the real world that I've read suggest that their aurora event was unusually strong. If true, our event may persist for longer than a week. We're not sure, but we will know when it's almost time for it to end as there will be signs. For now, get out there and enjoy the light show!"

POWER COMPANY REASSURES PUBLIC AMIDST AURORA EVENT

As the auroras make their appearance in the dream world, residents have been asking the Dimension Power and Energy Company questions about the event and how it could affect the dream world power grid.

From the information that's known about auroras in the real world, auroras are caused by geomagnetic storms that affect the Earth's atmosphere. These storms can cause disruptions in communications, including the electrical grid. From what we've seen from previous aurora events in the dream world, this isn't necessarily the case.

DPEC has come out and stated that they don't expect to see any disruptions to the power grid amidst the aurora event; they also don't expect any disruptions in communications such as through phone and cable lines. 

"We don't expect any sort of widespread interference with the power grid," DPEC Chief Lumière explained, "I talked to DWPS Chief Tropos regarding the effects an event like this could have on the dream world, but I was reassured that our power grid would be fine."

DPEC states that they are monitoring for anything strange in the power grid, as well as monitoring telecommunications.

"In certain events, we'll be monitoring for things that may lead to sporadic outages or even blackout events," Chief Lumière said, "Heat waves, severe weather, and other meteorological events catch our interest, but aurora events not so much. We believe the power grid will be fine amidst the event."

Nonetheless, the chief says that DPEC will monitor in the event of a "dramatic" situation.

"We'll still monitor for anything strange so don't worry about the power going out," chief Lumière said, "Only a very strong and dramatic event could knock out power across the dream world. A freak severe thunderstorm, a heat wave causing massive energy use- you know, hard stuff. Don't worry, our grid will be fine."

Dear Lucid, are there certain scenarios where a dream demon must be put to sleep?

Hello Honk. Dream demons are known to never sleep; we may rest our eyes, but we do not actually fall asleep. However, there are certain scenarios where a dream demon may need to be put to sleep.

Dream demons who are in need of medical attention that require surgical procedures may need to be temporarily put to sleep so they are not awake during the procedure. Expectant dream demons- those that are expecting to bear offspring- may also need to be put to sleep so the period of gestation does not negatively affect the child. There are other scenarios where this may be needed, but they are typically benign.

Dear Lucid, what other job would you consider taking if it wasn’t the DPF?

Greetings Emma. After spending many years in the Academy, I was known for my research, works, projects, and likewise. Of course, I would not be here if it was not for all of the professors and educators who helped me in my academic journey.

I suppose if the DPF was not an option for me, I would have become a professor. I have been told I would be good as an educator, so I do not see why I would turn down the chance to get to teach others. After all, knowledge is power.

Dear Lucid, is it true that the human Egyptian pyramids were constructed with help of aliens?

Greetings Ally. I was around when they were getting built and alive to witness the Pyramid dimension. However, I was not in the real world to physically see them getting built myself, but I have heard strange stories of extraterrestrials helping humans in the past. 

I cannot confirm or deny this theory, though. Using mathematics and other skills, it would appear that human construction of them on their own could have been possible, but I am not quite sure either.

Dear Lucid, in a hypothetical scenario, how much power would be needed for a portal to the real world built from scratch?

Greetings Franne. Well hypothetically speaking, builting a portal to the real world from complete scratch would be tedious work. In my own personal experience, I did not have to use an abundant amount of power to reach the real world, but if you are trying to build a direct portal there with little to no experience, it would require a lot of power.

Generally speaking, portals require some sort of energy to be powered- think of it like fuel. What you choose to fuel up this portal is up to you, but I would say generating an immense amount of power would require you to somehow tap into an abundant energy source. The only area I can think of is by tapping into the dream world's power grid and utilizing it for the portal. This would give you the amount of power you need, at the cost of a catastrophic dream worldian blackout. Of course, this is just a hypothetical scenario- as you said.

Dear Lucid, why does Sylveran not like you?

Hello Biggy. I am not quite sure why Sylveran has a particular distaste against me. I can assume it is because I am a criminal on the run and he is a bounty hunter. However, I think this distaste began even before my trial, but I am not sure why he has a thing against me. 

He was always quite kind with me- I might add that he was oddly sweet. I suppose he enjoyed having a friend who did not judge him for how he looked, but then he began to get colder and more distant. I wish I knew why.

Dear Lucid, how do you keep being so kind even when you feel like everything else crumbles around you?

Greetings Bea. You know, living a long life is not easy. You are going to witness a lot of good and a lot of bad. I have been witness to some of the best days and some of the worst days in my life. Yet, I understand why people would question how- despite all odds- I remain kind.

It might not matter how you think of me, but I will always try to find the best in people. I will maintain patience and calm and proceed with kind gestures. I treat others with how I want to be treated even if that is not always the case. That is not to say there are days I want to "crack" and forget it all. I remain steadily strong. Truthfully so, my mother always told me to always find and do good no matter what. I follow her advice to this day. After all, it is true that a little kindness goes a long way...
