HALLOWEEN ENDS, NOVEMBER TO BRING TRANQUILITY

The Halloween season has officially ended across the dream world, which means that November is set to bring much peace and quiet.

Not much happens in the dream world during November. Aside from the return of the Feast dimension, November is considered a quiet month. 

“Oh yeah, November is pretty peaceful,” said a local barista working the Cafe dimension, “Business here usually returns back to normal following Halloween, so we aren’t expecting heavy traffic this month.”

A few individuals are still feeling the effects of Halloween, including leftover candies and treats. “Yeah we went to the Neighborhood dimension to get some treats, and we got a lot!” a local witch said, “No tricks, just how I like it!” 

A few individuals who visited Almoral’s mansion had something up their sleeves. “He gave me an artifact in hopes I would leave. I mean, it’s cool and all, but I don’t really know what it’s for.” said a local penguin. “I think it’s like a key of some sorts. I’m not too sure.”

While Halloween comes to a close, some are already looking forward to the end of the autumn period. November is the last full month of autumn, which means the Patch dimension is set to close later this month. However, winter brings a few seasonal dimensions as well, but it is still too early to pinpoint when and what exactly. 

Dream world inhabitants are asked to report any tricks received during Halloween to the DPF, and to expect less ghost sightings now that October has passed.

 PARTY THROWN FOR LOCAL BACKROOMS KEEPER

A party has been taking place in the Party dimension for a local Backrooms keeper. Figment, or Fig for short, is celebrating their birthday this week, and the little oni is getting older.

“Yahoo! A party thrown for me! This is the best thing ever! It gets very boring in the Backrooms, but to think that a party would be thrown for me makes me so happy!” Fig said. “Everyone here can get cake. Please please, take a seat! It means so much that you guys are here!”

The dimension was decorated to fit Fig’s usual Backrooms atmosphere. The floor tiles have been adjusted to carpet, while the walls look a lot like the ones in the Backrooms. The lighting in the dimension has also been adjusted accordingly, making the dimension a little dimmer. 

When asked about his birthday wish, Fig replied saying that he wishes for more people to come visit him. “While it’s a fun and useful job to open portals to dimensions in the Backrooms so people can’t get lost anymore, no one really stays for too long in there, and it gets very lonely. But everyone I’ve met is so nice! I just wish they would stay for a little longer…”

Fig’s birthday party is expected to last until next week before it ends. Visitors are asked to bring a smile on their face, and to celebrate accordingly.

Dear Nate, is there internet in the dream world?

Hello Webster! Just like in the real world, there is also internet in the dream world! Internet in the dream world functions very similarly as in the real world; you would need to get a connection of some sort, whether it be through wireless or cable connection. Once you do get connected, you have access to a lot of material!

I will say that internet service in the dream world varies by dimension. Not all dimensions will have access or WiFi that you will be able to use to connect to it. Service is quite spotty around the dream world, but you are always welcome to visit any of the technological dimensions like the Computer, Lab, Technology, and of course, Internet dimension for guaranteed internet access! 

Something to note, some material you may try to access on the internet is restricted. The Council of the dream world also restricts certain content from being viewed. Plus, just like in the real world, you are always being monitored when browsing through pages or searching up things. Certain keywords or phrases can put you on the DPF’s monitor list; you won’t necessarily be arrested, but they will keep an extra eye on you just to make sure you aren’t doing anything wrong. Once it is determined you’re fine, you get taken off this list. The downside is that you never know if you’re on the list until you get a visit from an agent! So, be careful what you look up!

But as always, there are plenty of fun things on the internet here to check out. There are tons of news sources, sports, video viewing websites, even online games! My favorite online game is probably the one with the blocks. You get tools to mine blocks and make cool structures, and there are also animals in it too! It’s quite fun, but if you ever play, watch out for the monsters...they can hurt you in the game! Maybe we can play sometime together if we have time!

Dear Nate, since you’re a demon, is it possible for you to be sealed away?

Hi Cecil! Oh boy, this question is very interesting. Well, being a dream demon, I do fall under the demon category, which means I am subject to many things that any normal demon could face. One of those things is a seal!

Sealing a demon prevents them from ever wandering around the dream world again, and keeps them locked up in their own little dimension that is separated from the dream world. It’s not a place you can visit though. Think of it like a jail cell; you’re cooped up in a room all by yourself with no access to the outside world, plus you are quite isolated from society! Sealed demons are inaccessible, and put into a slumber state. Kind of ironic since being a dream demon means I do not sleep!

It’s possible to seal me away, but why would you want to do that?! Sealing away a demon isn’t easy anyway. There’d have to be a special ritual to seal them away for good, but it takes time to gather the materials needed. The only thing is that all demons can be sealed away with common methods. This means that, unlike summoning, you can recite and perform the same sealing ritual with me as you could with another demon like Lucid, per se. But I don’t want that!

A demon can be unsealed simply by performing their summoning ritual. But again, every demon has their own conditions to summon them. I hope this answers your question, and please, do not seal me away...I wish to stay here, thank you very much!

Now- Birthday Party: Time to celebrate Fig’s birthday just the way he would like it...with people around him so it’s not lonely!

Now- New dimension portal opens: This dimension sort of breaks the fourth wall. It doesn’t feel like the other dimensions we’ve visited. Looks quite personal and comfy though!

November 11- New dimension portals open up: Smell that? See that? Feel that? Things smell like coffee in here, it’s raining, and that chair is upside down! What gives?!

November 18- Patch dimension closes: Cal’s getting ready to close his business, but unless you have something in particular on you, this dimension will be gone for everyone else!

November 18- More dimension portals open: That’s the sound of the bell! Hurry up! You don’t want to be late again!
