LOCAL SCHOOLS GO BACK IN SESSION FOLLOWING BREAK

Many students are returning back to school this week as the two month summer vacation comes to a close.

Local schools in the dream world have begun to start classes again, and both teachers and students are looking forward to the school year that's to come.

"Classes here are six hours a day with about ten students in my class," a local teacher tells me, "I can't wait to start my lessons and have them focused and learning. It's a lot of fun!"

"School's okay," a local student says, "I think the best part of it is either recess or lunch. Classes are okay."

Many different schools operate within the dream world, though most are located in the District. In the rural dream world, local schools are scattered, and differ from the actual School dimension.

"The School dimension is a well preserved human memory-made dimension that doesn't function as an actual school," Madeline, a nostalgist tells me, "Many, but not all, dimensions don't actually function the way that they're made. While the School is a school, there are no real classes that take place here."

The Academy, which is the dream world's most famous educational institution, also recently came back into session this week. While the curriculum doesn't differ too much from other educational institutions, there are more things to offer, including clubs. 

"Thinking about inventing something cool? You should join the Robotics club!" one recruiter says.

"If your dream is to be a great actor, join the Drama club!" another recruiter says.

"Do you like chocolate? The Chocolate Tasting club is devoted to solely tasting different kinds of chocolate!" a recruiter says.

DPF Patrol Officers are helping out by ensuring a safe and easy transition around schools, often guiding traffic, providing assistance with directions, and keeping our little ones safe.

"I'm on crossing guard duty by helping people cross the street," Reginald, a DPU Officer says, "It's a job that passes time while everyone gets to school on time."

As school comes back into session, it's important to be ready with school supplies, knowing your schedule, and making sure you're prepared and on time to class.

A ONE ON ONE INTERVIEW WITH DIA CHIEF DAIKI

Hello everyone! I'm here with another exclusive one-on-one interview with another chief of the DPF. This time, I managed to land an interview with the chief of the Detective Investigation Agency: Mr. Daiki! Below is a transcript of part of the interview where I got to ask him many questions!

PORTER: Thank you chief Daiki for agreeing to do this interview with me!

DAIKI: The pleasure is all mine.

PORTER: My first question, what's it like being chief of the DIA?

DAIKI: It is a tough job with a lot to handle. As you know, this branch handles all investigations into different matters. Our detective agents are all well prepared to work with the information they receive on a certain case. I handle all the big paperwork and make sure things go smoothly. Of course, it can be stressful.

PORTER: Were you in the DIA prior to being chief?

DAIKI: Yes. I had already been in the DIA for 800 years or so. In fact, I was one of the longest serving agents in the branch at the time of my nomination. I have not worked in any other branch of the DPF. I always found a passion in the field of investigation.

PORTER: You're currently overseeing the biggest case right now involving Francis. How's that going?

DAIKI: Half true. While I am overseeing the case, it is not directly. Agents Hallucinate and M3-0W are directly overseeing this case and they were personally handpicked by Director Ferekides for it. The case remains strange as although we know the prime suspect, we do not know his true motives. I assume agent Hallucinate wants to take the long way and take it slowly, but it does differ from the way he used to handle cases.

PORTER: It was originally said that Lucid was the one causing chaos in the dream world, but this new information about Francis seems to contradict that. Do you think Lucid is at fault?

DAIKI: I do not really like talking about Lucid, but despite all the evidence put forth, Lucid is seemingly not at fault for what's been going on in the dream world. Still, I do not think he's off the hook just yet. Though in his case, he'd be glad none of the evidence is against him right now. We will have to see what happens.

PORTER: You're the oldest chief serving in the DPF both in age and time as chief now that chief Demi retired. How does that feel like?

DAIKI: It is the same to me. My age and time as chief should not make me be seen as the wisest or important voice to listen to at meetings. All of our input is important as chiefs, and I would like to be treated as if age and time didn't matter for me. Being over 6,000 at my age can be tiring, but I am no one's idol. I am simply another chief among the Big Six. Nothing more, nothing less.

Dear Nate, can you get moved around in the DPF?

Hello Tran! Yes, it's possible to be moved around within the DPF. Actually, it's not necessarily as common as you think. 

You see, when you apply at the DPF, you do get to choose where you want to work. Many choose to work in one of the six big branches of the organization, such as the DIA, the DPU, the IAA, etc. However, it is possible to be moved in a few ways.

One way you can move is by filing a request with the director. The director will read this request and decide whether to accept or deny it. Depending on your personal record at the DPF, this will be key to whether you can move elsewhere in the agency or not. You have a better chance if your record is clean and/or you have experience or knowledge for the branch you want to move to.

Another way you can move is at the request of a chief. Chiefs can request an agent to be moved from one branch to another if they see you're performing well. This isn't common though as this method is not really popular. Still, imagine a chief in the DPF notices your hard work! Impressive!

One other way you can move is if the director himself handpicks you to be moved to another branch. The director will ask you if you wish to be moved to the branch and it is up to you if you want to. This method is quite rare, but this is how I went from patrol officer to detective recently!

Of course, you don't have to move within the agency if you want. Perhaps you just really like being an intelligence officer, and that's okay! But of course, if you feel unhappy or unsatisfied with your current job, you always have the option to request a transfer into another branch. I wouldn't mind moving back to being a patrol officer, but I got an investigation to do first!

Dear Nate, what's the most popular social media site in the dream world?

Hello Poppy! There are many sites to browse on the internet in the dream world, but the most popular one where almost everyone uses is called Liminal Spaces!

Developed in the late 2000s, this site is not that old! Liminal Spaces, or just Liminal, is the most popular social media site to use as it holds about 200 million users. 

Liminal has many functions, but it primarily is used to post statuses about people's daily lives. You can post statuses, photos, videos, and even hold a live stream! You can follow other users to see what they're up to, as well as share things they post and privately message others as well!

Many organizations have official accounts that use Liminal to get the word out. Organizations like the DPF, DWPS, DPDS, DPEC, and more, use Liminal to help the public get their messages. You can follow these accounts if you want to be up to date in real time. The Council of the dream world surprisingly doesn't have an official account on here though.

I don't use Liminal as often as I would like, and I sit around 800 followers…hehe…but life shouldn't necessarily revolve around a website. At least, that's what Lucid told me. It can become addicting, and in doing so, can affect your mental health. Always remember to take breaks!

But yes, Liminal Spaces is the most popular social media site in the dream world. You should definitely consider making an account! Huh? No no, not to follow me! I mean, if you want to…your choice! I'm just saying if you're curious to see what the site is about. After all, you might not get it at first, leave, forget about it for months, and then come back and realize it can be fun! Happens to all of us!
