SPECTRE SIGHTINGS ON THE RISE LEAVE OFFICIALS PUZZLED

The Dimension Protection Force is working on verifying reports coming in from the public regarding spectre sightings in the dream world.

According to the reports, dream world residents are witnessing what appear to be spectres in sporadic locations across the dream world. These sightings appear to be very brief as once a person gets a good look at them, they disappear. 

Spectre is a term used to describe a type of ghost that physically manifests itself in its entire bodily form whereas ghost is an umbrella term. They do not appear to be transparent and they often just appear to look like any regular human being. Getting a closer look at them, however, shows that they have pale skin and a more neutral demeanour.

The DPF acknowledges that October is the month when ghost sightings become more prevalent. The current incoming reports of spectre sightings in the dream world don't appear to be out of the ordinary, but they acknowledge it is a bit strange in terms of behavior.

"Typically, when you see a ghost, it's not like it's going to disappear as soon as you see it. This isn't the real world where they like to play with humans," a spokesperson for the DPF says, "It's strange that spectres are physically manifesting themselves, but disappearing as soon as you see them in the dream world. They don't usually do that."

Another odd behaviour is that the spectres have been described as "cloaked" and "watching from afar" which is also bizarre.

"Spectres typically just wear normal clothes as they would have pre-mortem. They shouldn't wear cloaks," the DPF spokesperson explains, "Also, the 'stalking' like behaviour is also odd. Spectres are typically passive and can engage in conversation with people. To behave like this is very odd."

Despite the sightings, the DPF doesn't think this is a cause for concern at this moment, but is still working on verifying these reports since the sightings are brief and spectres leave no trace.

"We're trying to verify if these reports are valid, but it's difficult. Upon arriving to the locations they were spotted, we cannot find any traces left behind as spectres don't easily leave traces," DFCU Chief Vivienne says, "We'll just have to keep trying to verify reports and ask the public to continue reporting anything should they encounter a spectre." 

The DPF is asking the public to continue sending in reports and not to worry much about the sightings. They will continue to monitor the situation and keep the public updated as information comes in.

THINGS TO GET SPOOKY NEXT MONTH

October is just around the corner, and by historical standards, it means things are about to get spooky!

October is known to bring spooky related vibes to the dream world as it officially shifts into the Halloween season. Many dimensions are decorated with pumpkins, cobwebs, skeletons, and other Halloween related decorations. This year, Halloween may look much less chaotic than last year's. 

In case you forgot, last year's Halloween was overshadowed by the NEAP-1 outbreak. It caused disruptions for many and even caused the DPF to vote to suspend Halloween related activities. However, in an extremely rare move, the Council overruled the DPF and allowed Halloween to continue. 

The Dimension Disease Control and Protection agency already stated that it doesn't expect any incidents regarding NEAP-1 or any other outbreak for this Halloween, so it's safe to say that things may look smooth this year. Some residents are already expressing excitement over the month that's about to arrive.

"Halloween's a great holiday! I love it!" a local pumpkin man says, "It's the time of year I get the most excited over, I mean, have you seen me?!" 

"I'm looking forward to October! The Cinema plays lots of horror movies during this time, and I love horror flicks!" a local goblin tells me, "I wonder if they'll be playing Scream again?" 

"Oh, it's gonna be so awesome! Halloween is THE best holiday ever!" Almoral, a local necromancer says, "Everyone knows that it's the best month to get to talk to spirits and what better way to celebrate Halloween than to raise some spirits! After all, I'm the best necromancer ever!!" 

While October will arrive soon, Halloween in the dream world won't become noticeable until the middle of the month. In the meantime, however, people begin to prepare and stock up on decorations, costumes, and of course, candy.

"Candy is pretty good! It's what you get for trick-or-treating, but what people don't know is that spirits are also attracted to candy!" Almoral explains, "Yep, don't ask why, but they love it! I guess once you're deceased, you don't have to worry about visits to the dentist… how lucky of them! What type of candy do you think Lucid likes?"

Dear Nate, are clothes tailored specifically for different people?

Hi Psy! When you think about going to buy clothes, you probably just imagine yourself walking into a clothing store and selecting an article of clothing with no problem. Well, not quite!

As you may know already, there are many different kinds of species in the dream world, but not everyone looks the same! Some of us have tails, while others don’t. Some of us can fly, while others can’t. Some of us have two arms, while others may have one, three, or more! You see, it depends on what you are, and of course, you’re going to have to find clothes tailored for your species in mind!

When you have a tail, you’ll have to look for bottomwear that has a special opening in the rear so you can put your tail in through that. If you have to put something on and you don’t give your tail some room to breathe, it can be quite uncomfortable! There are clothes tailored specifically for those who have tails. The same thing goes for topwear if you have multiple arms, wings, or another physical characteristic. 

Clothing clothes in the dream world typically have a wide variety of clothes tailored for specific types. I say typically because that’s not always the case. Some stores do not have specific clothes and you’ll have to look elsewhere for whatever you’re looking for. However, some clothing shops dedicate their inventory to a sole specific species, so you may find what you’re looking for there! I know a few clothing shops solely selling clothes tailored for dream demons. I typically get my clothes there!

But don’t worry, even if you don’t find something specific, you can always go to the Mall! The Mall has various stores you can visit to find something. Most of the clothing stores are located on the eighth floor, so try your luck there first! I promise you’ll find something you like, or even better! 

Dear Nate, can anyone learn to use supernatural powers?

Hey Ma! In the dream world, you’ll notice that some people can use powers and others don’t appear to use anything special at all. Truth is, anyone can learn, but depending on various factors, the level of said power can vary.

Some species are “naturally” born with some sort of powers they will eventually learn on their own. For dream demons, they eventually learn to levitate and float on their own in the infant stage. For other things like teleporting, telekinesis, or any other supernatural power, you’ll have to learn that! 

Though let’s assume you’re not something like a dream demon, a werewolf, a vampire, or some other creature that is “naturally” born with some sort of supernatural power. You could learn something if you take the time to study and learn. For example, my friend Almoral had to study and learn how to be a necromancer. He has the ability to raise spirits from the dead! He wasn’t born with it, so he had to learn it. Anyone is capable of learning, but they just have to put in the effort and try.

Of course, you could always learn some basic things. Perhaps the ability to lift simple objects like cups, pencils, a phone, etc. Perhaps you learn how to manipulate water at a simple level. Nothing too over the top, y’know? Of course, maybe you opt to not learn anything special at all- and that’s okay! Some people just decide they’re fine without having powers and live normal lives! You can be like that, or you can be someone with a lot of immense power…like Lucid, which come to think of it, is kind of scary… Having a lot of power but keeping so much of it to yourself…hehe…

I guess we’re just lucky that Lucid is patient and kind. I can’t imagine what would happen if he ever went overboard… I hope that day never comes! Like Lucid said before quoting someone, “With great power comes great responsibility,” so the moral of this story? If you have powers, be responsible with them! And if you don’t, well, that’s fine too!

October 12- Lucid’s back in his realm: It’s been a while since Lucid has been to his realm in peace. I wonder if we should go bring him some grapes?
