GREEN FOG ROLLS IN ACROSS DREAM WORLD

Conditions in the dream world have turned foggier than normal with some might even saying they’re ‘seeing green.’

Green fog has rolled into the dream world this week, about a week earlier than anticipated, and several dimensions look spookier than normal. The Dimension Weather Prediction Service says that this is normal for this time of year, but the anticipation of the green fog was not expected for at least another week.

“We’re seeing green fog across much of the dream world!” Cirrus of the DWPS says, “Don’t worry, none of this is of concern. Think of it as purely cosmetic for the environment. I mean, it looks spookier out there, doesn’t it?”

The weather service said that not all outdoor dimensions are seeing green fog, but a grand majority are. In the District dimension, the green fog is scattered in nature, and not all enclaves are seeing it. In the rural dream world, a majority of those outdoor dimensions can expect to see the strange, spooky fog.

According to the DWPS, green fog is often in association with the Halloween season. The Halloween season typically runs from mid-October to early-November which is when this particular type of fog can be seen.

“You can say that green is a spooky color associated with Halloween just as orange is,” Cirrus explains, “But ‘orange fog’ is very rare. You are more likely to see green fog during October than any other color of fog. None of these post a risk to the public, but visibility may be reduced slightly. Of course, we’re always monitoring the weather for any changes in the environment!”

The weather service says that the fog is expected to persist through the rest of the month and into November. For more information and forecasts, please visit the DWPS’ website or visit your local forecasting office for additional resources.

SPECTRE SIGHTINGS TO CONTINUE, DPF SAYS

The Dimension Protection Force is continuing to receive reports from the public regarding sightings of spectres in the dream world.

Per the DPF’s Detective Investigation Agency, the total number of spectre sightings are up to 213 since September 21, when the first sighting was reported. The first sighting of a spectre was reported by two dream world residents who ventured into the Patch’s corn maze, which is owned by Cal of the Patch. Assuming it was a trespasser, it was reported to an officer of the DPF’s Dimension Patrol Unit.

As the days went by, additional reports would be filed to the DPU. While the DPU is still the branch handling the incoming reports, they are being passed on to the DIA. The Dimension Forensic Crime Agency is also examining reports of the spectre sightings as they also deal with spiritual affairs concerning deceased humans.

In total, three branches of the DPF are currently involved with handling the spectre sightings. While those branches are involved with the handling, there has been speculation over whether or not the DPF is going to venture into the Quartier Fantôme to further investigate any potential wrongdoing within the region.

According to some anonymous DPF sources, the DPF’s ‘Big Six’ branches were gathered in a secret, private meeting last Sunday to discuss going into the Quartier Fantôme, but it appears that the meeting went nowhere. For a refresher, the DPF does not have any jurisdiction within the region, so should they find a suspect or the culprit themselves, they will not be able to issue an arrest. An arrest can only be made once that person is outside of the borders of the Quartier Fantôme, so the DPF is not necessarily sure if it even wants to go inside that region.

Still, they do expect that spectre sightings will continue to rise throughout the next few weeks. As for their explanation, it’s still early to tell exactly, but DFCA Chief Vivienne suggests that these spectres may be lost.

“It’s possible that these spectres may be lost and don’t know how to return home,” she says, “Perhaps they were resurrected and left out in the dream world. Perhaps this is their first time out in the dream world and don’t know their way back home. If that’s the case, it is more sad than concerning!”

Greetings Fred. The thing I miss the most is simply being able to take a walk in the dream world without the fear of being caught and arrested. I long for the day to be able to have a stroll and greet people as I walk by without having to be afraid of arrest. Dear Lucid, do you prefer the rain or the snow?

Greetings Precila. I prefer snow over rain. There is nothing like seeing snow fall gently onto the ground and blanket the environment around in white. It is part of the reason why I really enjoy the winter season. I could simply stare at snow falling for hours on end and not find myself unentertained in that time. It is wonderful really.

Dear Lucid, do you still not have any grey hairs?

Greetings Oh. From the last time I checked, I still do not have any grey hairs. Grey hair is a sign of aging for some species, including dream demons. While my age is well past 5,500 and counting, I do not have any despite everything I have gone through. I am not sure when my first grey hair will appear, but so long as I do not think about it, I will be fine.

Dear Lucid, have you ever been to the Quartier Fantôme?

Hello Goo. Yes, I have been to the Quartier Fantôme on a number of occasions. This particular ‘special’ region in the dream world is a bit difficult to get to, but it is not as difficult as getting to the real world or the Void. 

The only way to access this region is by finding a special, carefully hidden entrance that is typically located in a cemetery. Among the tombstones in the cemetery, only one is actually an entrance to the Quartier Fantôme. Of course, it is absolutely illegal to excavate gravesites, so this makes finding an entrance much harder. The only way to know the entrance is to have heard it from someone who knows the entrance. It is a very secretive way to get the word out, but it is also quite, hmm… how do people say nowadays, a “gate kept” secret.

For those who do know, they do not likely just reveal the secret to anyone like that. Most people who do know are associated in some way, shape or form with spiritual matters, so it is understandable they keep it secret from the rest of the public and ordinary people. I happened to find an entrance through an old friend of mine. I have not revealed this particular entrance to anyone, not even Nate, I am afraid.

Regardless, while I have visited a few times, I do not necessarily think everyone should get to visit. I think it is best to leave the souls of those who passed away in the real world alone. They have already lived their own lives and we do not need to disturb them any further. The Quartier Fantôme may be big with different areas to explore, and while not off limits to us in the dream world, I think we should leave them be. Hm? Did you want to go? Do you have business there?

While I do not want to share the secret with you, perhaps someone else might. I do not suppose you are familiar with any…necromancers, are you?
