HALLOWEEN ARRIVES, GHOSTS ARE SPECIAL GUESTS
By: Oswald
The Halloween season has officially come in full swing to the dream world and it has come with special guests.
Just as the Dimension Protection Force predicted, sightings of specters have continued to be reported within the past week. While the specters remain passive and are not a threat, they seem to blend in with the environment. The specters do not seem responsive to people, but it seems clear that they do not mean harm.
Many dimensions have been decorated as Halloween comes closer and in many dimensions, such as in the Cafe, the lights have gone out.
“What better way to make things spooky than by killing the lights in here,” Artisan, a barista at the Cafe says, “It just adds to the atmosphere. I love it!”
Other dimensions see a variety of pumpkins, skulls, ghosts, and other spooky decorations. That being said, while not all dimensions are decorated, there’s a lot to see. The Backrooms, for example, has also been completely blacked out and decorated for Halloween.
“Yep, welcome to the Darkrooms!” Figment of the Backrooms says, “Hope you brought a torch or a lantern, because it sure is spooky in there! Don’t get lost…”
The Cinema dimension is once again screening various horror films through the rest of the month, as well as other Halloween associated films.
"Do I pick… Scream or Ghostbusters? I just can't decide!" one moviegoer tells me.
The Club has been decorated as well, and they're bringing back their "Dance 'til your dead" theme to the dance floor.
"I'm sure we've all of that phrase, but it's Halloween, so don't take it literally here!" DJ Techno of the Club says, "Just dance and have fun!"
Specters in the dream world may seemingly be in on the fun, but the DPF asks to continue reporting sightings as a solution is being discussed among the DPF chiefs.
"The specters seen in the dream world are not a danger, but please continue to report them. We will have a solution soon," Dimension Patrol Unit chief Matías said in a statement.
Halloween across the dream world is here. For more information about dimensions worth visiting, you can visit the Tribune's website for a list of what to check out. Stay safe out there!
LEAK SUGGESTS DPF CLOSER TO POSSIBLY VISITING QUARTIER FANTÔME FOR CLUES
By: Porter
A recent leak from an anonymous source in the Dimension Protection Force has revealed that the agency is close to possibly approving a mission into the mysterious Quartier Fantôme.
For the past few weeks or so, the DPF has floated around the idea of going into the Ghost District to look for clues as to why spectres are appearing all over the dream world. This idea has had lack of support since the agency itself does not have jurisdiction within the grounds of the Quartier Fantôme. However, there may be signs of some budging.
According to the anonymous source, the "Big Six" chiefs of the DPF have been in private talks to come to an agreement as to who would be willing to enter the region to look for evidence and possibly talk to witnesses and gather Intel. However, most of the chiefs are not enthusiastic about the idea of entering the region which is not only difficult to get into, but it can also be seen as possibly disrespectful.
The only high ranking official in the DPF who has shown signs of wanting to go into the Quartier Fantôme is reportedly Leader Finnegan of the DPF'S Rescue Operations Team Unit. This is not confirmed, though, but we did reach out to his office for comment.
Eliazar, the head instructor of the ROTU's recruit unit and known as Finnegan's right hand man, replied saying he wasn't aware of any mission into the Quartier Fantôme and isn't aware that Finnegan is willing to go there.
"I haven't heard about such a plan nor has Finn told me anything," he said, "Ugh, it wouldn't surprise me if that idiot is willing to do that though."
So far, these are just leaks and rumours, but the DPF hasn't commented on such a mission. We recently reached out to DIA chief Daiki if he is sending any agents out to investigate the region.
"I have no plans of sending any of my agents into the region to investigate for evidence, clues, and other matters," he replied in a statement, "While we believe that Francis may be behind this- just as all the other strange events- I do not think he is in the Quartier Fantôme. However, I have sent agents Hallucinate and M3-0W to investigate various cemeteries for clues."
The dream demon explained that if someone was to be resurrecting spirits, it would likely stem from a cemetery. Chief Daiki says that agents Nate and M3-0W have been tasked with going around various cemeteries to see if anything was left behind that could be used as evidence.
While the DPF has not announced anything yet in regards to a special mission into the Quartier Fantôme, these are just leaks and rumours. Should anything come up, the DPF will release a statement and we will report it to you here first on the Tribune!
Q/A: Ask Lucid
Dear Lucid, what do you like more about the real world than the dream world?
By: Fay Vorit
Greetings Fay. I think one of the things that I like more about the real world than the dream world is getting the chance to study up close the physics and laws of the real world compared to the dream world. The compression of matter in the real world is much heavier than that in the dream world so it is something interesting that I can study in person. The real world is indeed a curious place.
Dear Lucid, have you ever considered getting a tattoo?
By: Inn K.
Hello Inn. I have considered that idea at some point in the past, but I do not have any tattoos as of right now. Who knows? I may get one in the future.
Dear Lucid, what's scarier: space or the ocean?
By: Dee P.
Greetings Dee. To put things into perspective, humans have discovered more about the cosmos than their own waters on Earth. That being said, I believe the ocean is far more peculiar and "scarier" than space. I have not personally done research in the deep sea, but calculating the science and mathematics of space is much easier and makes it less frightening to me.
Dear Lucid, how old is the dream world?
By: Anne C. Ente
Hello Anne. The dream world's age is a mystery to many, but it is estimated to be several millennia old. Consider this as food for thought: the dream world's existence can be traced back to the earliest primitive life forms on Earth that are connected to today’s species of humans. So as long as the people have recollected and dreamed, the dream world has been there just under their own world.
Dear Lucid, what would you dress up as for Halloween this year?
By: Kaust Yuum
Greetings Kaust. I believed I got asked a similar question last year, but I will not give the same response. I think this year I would want to go as a ninja. I mean, I already have the mask and the attire would not be difficult to make. I have read manga about adventurous ninjas in the past and may find inspiration in them. Now, I am not saying I am going to get dressed as a ninja for Halloween, but it is a cool thought, no?
Dear Lucid, do you have any tips about the Quartier Fantôme?
By: Fanny Tohm
Hello Fanny. I suppose you are asking me because you are curious to know more about this region.
The Quartier Fantôme can only be accessed through a special entrance that is not easy to find. Entrances to the region can be found in cemeteries, but you have to know which lot is the entrance as you cannot just excavate grave sites without knowing. It is, of course, disrespectful.
Once you find the entrance, you will find yourself in the Quartier Fantôme. The region itself varies from one location to another. You might find yourself in a bayou- water knee deep or so, a forest with barren trees, a neighborhood where it seems you may find yourself trick-or-treating, and of course, the heart of the Quartier Fantôme.
While the region itself can be compared to our own District dimension, the Quartier Fantôme is similar in nature, but it is not as big as the District. Some areas may be blocked off to living beings as they are residential areas for the spirits inhabiting the area. Still, there is a lot to check out, but you do want to be careful.
While the inhabitants are not aggressive, you should not do anything to inherently disrespect them. Remember that deceased human beings must be treated with respect following their passing. Doing anything that offends or upsets them may not be in your best nature.
While you may want me to be your guide, I think you would be better off with someone who frequents the Quartier Fantôme more than I do. Of course, if you happen to know any local necromancers who do treat the deceased with respect and knows their way around the region, then I recommend them as a guide. That reminds me of someone…agh, it is nothing. I am sure he is well. He did mean well after all. Ahem, if you plan on visiting, good luck and do not get yourself in trouble…
