WIDESPREAD THUNDERSTORMS BRING MONOCHROME VIBES

Rain showers and thunderstorms that were forecasted have arrived in the dream world, and they have also brought along monochrome rooms.

The so called “Monochrome Gang” have teamed up again this year and repainted various dimensions black and white. Their reasoning has to do with the recent weather, forcing many to take shelter indoors.

The event, organized by local dream demon Charlie, was previously done last year with much success. This year, they hope the event brings out more people to check out indoor dimensions that have been repainted temporarily. With rainy weather, they hope people stay indoors to enjoy a world of black and white.

“Charlie can’t speak, but he sure looks glad that people are checking out these dimensions!” Artisan of the Cafe says, “Look at the Cafe! We got some people roleplaying as detectives and others are soaking in the monochrome vibes. Pretty cool!”

Artisan says that people should take advantage of this event if they want to do any vintage related activities like shooting a short film or even taking pictures.

“Black and white rooms really bring that old vintage aesthetic to them,” he explains, “You can easily slap on some makeup and pretend you’re monochrome too! Take some pictures or shoot a video and pretend it’s the roaring 20s all over again!”

In regards to the forecast, the Dimension Weather Prediction Service has elevated their severe weather risk to the “medium” level. There are three levels to severe weather: Low, Medium, and High. The DWPS says that they raised it after thunderstorms became widespread.

“Rain showers were forecasted for mid-April, but in recent weeks, our models trended towards thunderstorms becoming numerous and widespread in the dream world,” Cirrus of the DWPS says, “With thunderstorms comes the risk of severe thunderstorms, and conditions look a little more favorable for that. We elevated that risk from ‘low’ to ‘medium’ because of it.”

Under a ‘medium’ risk, Cirrus says that severe thunderstorms are more likely to form, which can include hail, strong winds, excessive lightning, and isolated tornadoes. 

“You’re probably hearing thunder all over the dream world right now- yep, that’s normal for such a risk!” Cirrus explains, “Of course, if you hear thunder, you go indoors. We’re all monitoring weather conditions across the dream world right now, particularly in those dimensions where it actually is raining.”

Cirrus says that not all dimensions are currently experiencing rain. Some remain dry and others remain snowing, but thunder can be heard from afar. When asked if this is abnormal, Cirrus says it’s not.

“We understand it might look weird, but this is actually normal for spring. An abnormal spring would have rain quite literally in every outdoor dimension, but we’re just not seeing nor anticipating that. So don’t worry!” she tells me.

The Monochrome Gang says that their event will go on for about two weeks.

“As long as people stay indoors and check out the monochrome indoor rooms, then the event will be considered a success!” Artisan exclaims, “So go on, put on your best detective outfit and get out there! There’s a world of black and white waiting for you!”

A REMINDER OF THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING ECO-FRIENDLY

This week marks Earth Week- a week dedicated to learning about the Earth and how important it is for those on the surface! 

In 1970, humans began to celebrate their planet with Earth Day- a day dedicated to raising awareness of the planet they live on. While we here down in the dream world shouldn’t be too worried now, it’s widespread knowledge that human activity in the real world affects us down here too. That being said, humans should take care of their planet so we don’t have to feel that down here!

The Academy offers classes on human and Earth history with many lessons on how the Earth is constantly changing, and changing rapidly in recent years. This is because of human activity pertaining to how they use energy, resources, and other factors. It’s likely the dream world will get warmer if Earth continues to warm up. Remember, much of the dream world’s systems like the weather and climate depend on human memories and nostalgia. It may get to the point where a majority of humans will only have memories of a hotter climate, thus making it hotter down here too.

We are not here yet in the dream world. It’s likely that it’ll take at least another hundred years before we start to feel the difference. By then though, we might have the power to not feel those effects with our technology, but humans may not be so lucky.

For humans, it’s important to do “green” activities to help their planet out. There are many things humans can do to “go green.” Whether it be by recycling, using less carbon emissions, conserving energy, planting trees, or something else environmentally friendly, everyone should contribute to something. Every little grain of salt counts!

It might be a little difficult to understand what it’s like to live in a world that’s getting warmer, a world with limited resources, a world that’s changing, but humans will have to come together to find a common solution to help their planet out in the long run. After all, we wouldn’t be here without humans, so we can only hope they get their act together and save themselves from potential disaster. 

It’s unknown what the future holds for the Earth, but we do wish for the planet to go in the right direction. Just remember to be eco-friendly! Even one small act can have a big positive impact on the environment. So to humans in the real world, happy Earth Day! Learn to love your planet a little more, would you?!

Hello Ican. Yes, it is true that my eyes glow when I am in a dark environment. Since my eye color is silver, they appear silver in the dark. Sometimes, it does scare people at first until they get used to it. Though, all dream demon eyes glow in the dark, not just mine.

Dear Lucid, why does Sylveran not like you?

Hello Biggy. I am not quite sure why Sylveran has a particular distaste against me. I can assume it is because I am a criminal on the run and he is a bounty hunter. However, I think this distaste began even before my trial, but I am not sure why he has a thing against me. He was always quite kind with me- I might add that he was oddly sweet. I suppose he enjoyed having a friend who did not judge him for how he looked, but then he began to get colder and more distant. I wish I knew why.

Dear Lucid, would you join the DPF again if you got cleared of your crimes?

Hello Cam. It is still too early for me to decide if I want to join the DPF once again if I am ever cleared of my crimes. My time at the DPF had many ups and downs, but I always enjoyed it. I always wanted to protect the dream world in some way and my tasks there ensured that. Even now, despite all odds, I still want the best for the dream world. It is my home, after all.

Dear Lucid, do you think the guy who caused all of these weird anomalies will be caught?

Greetings Git. I think the man responsible for causing such a mess for over a year in the dream world will get brought to justice. I am not sure when he will, but there is a lot of evidence from what I have seen. Until then, he is likely out there still plotting his next moves, and more strange things will keep happening in the dream world because of it. I know Nate well enough to say that he is a good investigator. We worked together for many, many years as detectives in the DPF, and he learned much then. Now he is working with another partner, but he knows his stuff. I have much faith that Nate and M3-0W will get him and turn him in. The only question is when, but as always, time will tell.

Now- Noir Party 2023: Dimensions go black and white! Gather your vintage friends and pals and go solve a mystery or maybe recreate an old cartoon! It’s weird that this is how Lucid sees the world everywhere he goes…
