DPF GIVES UPDATE ON PERSON OF INTEREST, CERTAIN DREAM DEMON

The Dimension Protection Force has given an update on a person of interest they recently identified as the culprit behind the anomalies of the dream world.

The suspect, identified as Francis Robert P. Jackson has not been detained by DPF authorities yet, but the DPF has revealed some new information pertaining to the suspect. According to a recent press conference held by IAA Chief Kamaria and DIA Chief Daiki, there has been some intelligence obtained from some intelligence officers- both in real life and online- of additional anomalies beginning to appear again.

According to Chief Kamaria, at least two rift portals have been detected in the dream world, but their whereabouts remain unknown. The IAA chief says that Francis is likely opening up additional unauthorised portals, but they are currently unable to pinpoint where these rifts are located in the dream world.

“The IAA network of intelligence officers have obtained this information from passerby in isolated areas of the dream world, but it appears the rift portals randomly move from place to place,” Chief Kamaria explains, “Their random movement is unpredictable and we don’t currently have eyes on either of them right now.”

Chief Kamaria says that at the moment, there haven’t been any strange effects from the rift portals.

“No strange effects from portals have been detected so far,” she says, “However, it may affect the weather this summer just like it did last year. We’ll keep in touch with the DWPS on any developments.”

While Francis remains as a key figure in the investigation, he is still not the most wanted fugitive in the dream world. DIA Chief Daiki reiterated that the DPF is still considering disgraced dream demon, Lucid, as Public Enemy No. 1.

“Francis is indeed still messing around with dangerous experiments in the dream world that are causing anomalies, but the DPF’s eyes have not shifted their focus from another fugitive,” the DIA chief explains, “Lucid is still the biggest threat to the dream world and the most wanted person right now. Although Francis proved to be dangerous too, Lucid is not entirely off the hook, and remains attached to this investigation as a potential suspect as well.”

Chief Daiki says that agents Hallucinate and M3-0W continue on their investigation, and are being briefed on findings from other branches in the DPF like the IAA and DPU. 

“Of course, if other branches find information pertaining to this particular investigation, they will be briefed on it,” he says, “I believe they are currently trying to pinpoint where these rifts are, or where they have been. Finding patterns or something that can help locate them. And who knows, perhaps there are more, but we can only confirm two at this time.”

The DPF advises the public that if they find a “rift-like” portal, to stay away and immediately report it to a patrol officer or other DPF official. If the public has any tips or information on either Francis or Lucid, they can contact either the DPU or DIA and leave their tip anonymously. The DPF also reminds the public that if they encounter either individual to stay away as they could be dangerous.

FOREST DIMENSION RETURNS FOR SUMMER

The Forest dimension has returned for the summer and dream world residents have begun heading that way.

The Forest is a relatively big dimension with many campsites and other areas to check out. Most of the dimension is woodland and it can be easy to get lost.

The Dimension Forest and Parks Service (DFPS), which is in charge of maintaining the various local forests and parks in the dream world, are reminding people of a few tips when visiting the Forest or any other park this summer.

• Pick up and throw away any trash or litter. Undisposed garbage may attract unwanted guests.

• Do not feed the wildlife. Disrupting the ecosystem or an animal can be hazardous, so it's best to leave them be.

• Put out any fires not in use. If you start a campfire, be sure to put it out once not in use. 

• Stay on marked trails. Some local forests and parks have lit or unlit trails for guiding. Please stay on the path to avoid getting lost.

• Emergency phones should only be used in dire situations. You can dial for water or aid so a forest ranger can assist.

• Plan ahead accordingly. The weather can change in an instant, so plan ahead and be wary that incidents and accidents can arise without warning. It's important to be prepared. 

The DFPS will be actively monitoring all ranger stations throughout the dream world for any incidents or emergencies that may arise. For more information or resources, you can visit their website or a local ranger station.

Dear Lucid, if you’re so powerful, how come you rarely use your powers?

Hello Beris. You may have heard from other people that I am “all powerful” and that it rivals that of “a god”, but I will be honest, I do not necessarily like that comparison. 

Whether I am “very powerful” is subjective, but it is true that I have many abilities. I may have said it before but I rarely use my powers in order to conserve my own energy. Besides that, getting older also takes a toll on my abilities, and if I use them for a prolonged period of time, it does exhaust me. I tend to only use them nowadays if I must.

Dear Lucid, does getting older make you sadder?

Greetings Anne. I am not sure if you are asking about me in particular or people in general. For people in general, it depends on various factors. Becoming lonely and isolated can contribute to feeling sad in your older years. 

As for me, it can be sad to get older. While I am not immortal, living a long life in itself can bring forth events that I must confront. I have made many great friends, but I have had to see many come and go. While some pass, I continue to live, and they become a memory to me. I miss a lot of old friends, but I especially miss my parents.

Dear Lucid, where were you born?

Greetings Orry. I was born well over five thousand years ago in the Asia ward of the District dimension. Because of where and when I was born, I am considered Persian. 

Did you know, the District back then was much more different than it is in modern times? I have not been to the District in nearly one hundred years, and I assume it is much more advanced now.

Dear Lucid, would you ever consider visiting the Void?

Greetings Emmy. Hmm, I am not quite sure. There is no rule prohibiting anyone from reaching the Void, but it is much harder to reach than the real world. I am not sure if I would want to visit…after all, there is not anything interesting in there…or at all. Who knows?

Dear Lucid, have you read the book 1984 and is the dream world similar to it?

Hello Francine. Yes, I have read the book 1984 in its entirety multiple times, and to the point where I am able to recite it from beginning to end without needing the book. 

I have heard multiple comparisons between the society in the book and the society of the dream world. To be honest, the dystopian society portrayed in the book is not close to the society of the dream world. Even so, the dream world is also not a utopian society. 

The book itself should serve as a warning of governments becoming oppressive and suppressing the truth while also spewing misinformation. As much as I do not like the Council, they are not oppressive, but they have suppressed some information in the past- primarily certain real world affairs and of course, yours truly. Still, they are not Big Brother, and let us be honest, if Big Brother ever found out how we lived, he would waste no time trying to oppress and suppress us. Let us just be glad it is just a fiction book we can read and not something we have to worry about in the dream world.

Dear Lucid, why would the Council destroy all records of you?

Hello Deece. That is something that I have always wondered about and still do not understand what the Council was trying to achieve by doing that. Nothing could have been achieved from destroying all records of my existence considering that there are still people out there who know and remember me.

As I said before, the Council and I have a rather unfortunate relationship. They are the ones who sealed me after breaking the biggest rule. From what Nate told me after I was mysteriously unsealed, the Council actually ordered the DPF to surrender all known documents about me and my life so that they could be “dealt with accordingly” and director Ferekides did so with some initial hesitation at first.

I assume the Council did this out of spite, or hatred- or perhaps both. I always felt like they had some grudge against me, but that is pure speculation. Nate told me that he heard a rumor in which copies of my records were made and someone had obtained a few- at least enough to summon and unseal me. Nate could never confirm if this was true, but if it is, proof of my records, achievements, history, and existence are out there…somewhere.
