INTEL SUGGESTS MAGIC SHOW WAS TARGET FOR BIGGER PLOT

By: Porter

The DPF's Intelligence Affairs Agency has recently uncovered some information regarding the latest incident involving Gia's magic show.

According to the limited information that has been provided, the IAA has uncovered intelligence that suggests the magic show, which was held on February 29, had been targeted on purpose. The intel, which has not been disclosed on how it was obtained, reveals that the perpetrator had intended on using the magic show to send a message knowing the chief of the DIA was going to be present.

While the DIA is still conducting an investigation into the matter, the intel provided by the IAA gives the idea that the perpetrator is fully aware of ongoing events in the dream world and is also aware of notable figures that are present at those events. It is unknown how they are up to date on events, but the IAA points out that our own newspaper could be their go-to source.

"It's likely the perpetrator is a reader of the Subliminal Tribune and saw about the magic show that was planned and all of its invitees," IAA chief Kamaria said, "This is in no way Porter's fault for simply reporting the news. Considering Porter was the only journalist allowed into the event, the perpetrator likely took advantage of this to read exclusive news relating to it."

The good news is that, if true, it would be an important fact to take into consideration. The perpetrator reading news on current events in the Subliminal Tribune could help explain how other events could have been planned out ahead of time, at least according to the IAA.

"Using this newspaper publication as a way to plan out future plans gives us an idea that perhaps this is the main go-to source for news in the dream world," chief Kamaria said, "The magic show was thoroughly discussed in this publication when compared to the briefs in others. Television networks also briefly discussed this, but none actually spoke with Gia ahead of the event nor had anyone attend the show- only Porter of the Subliminal Tribune."

While that may explain the targeting of the show, further intel obtained has suggested this is only part of a bigger plot.

"The magic show was just stop one," Kamaria said, "The magic that was stolen that day will more than likely be used for something bigger. Unfortunately, we are not sure yet how that magic will be used, but we are continuing to monitor with eyes and ears on the ground by our spies."

Chief Kamaria would like to thank recent IAA addition, agent Hallucinate, for helping obtain this intelligence.

"Nate has proven time and time again that they are not only a good patrol officer and detective, but a good spy as well," the IAA chief said, "They are fitting in well in the IAA and I expect Nate to continue to prove themselves."

The IAA and DIA are continuing their joint investigation into the matter. Additional details will follow soon.

BEST CHANCE OF LUCK TO BE THIS WEEK

By: Roman

If you’re looking for a bit of luck this week, you’re unironically in luck!

This week is the best chance to try out your luck for anything that’s been on your mind lately, that’s at least according to a lot of fortune tellers. According to them, this week will be the best opportunity to score some sort of good luck when it comes to various things. Among those things could be winning a prize, going on a date, applying for a job, and more!

With St. Patrick’s Day being around the corner, it’s only logical that luck will be in the air. Gold dust particles will be more rampant in the air, that upon being breathed in, could give you a bit of a luck boost. Breathing in these dust particles will not harm you nor are they of any concern, according to the DDCP, but not everyone will have the same amount of luck.

“When you breathe in these fine particles, you are essentially letting yourself become charmed in a way,” DDCP chief Ophelia says, “Think of it as becoming your own good luck charm. However, while not harmful, a person’s body reacts differently to these particles which means some people will be more lucky than others. It just depends on your body.”

These gold dust particles are a result of several pots of gold being hidden around the dream world by mischievous leprechauns. It is said that at the end of a rainbow lies a pot of gold, but that’s not always the case.

“Not every rainbow has a pot of gold at the end, sadly,” DWPS meteorologist Cirrus explains, “Rainbows are a weather phenomenon that can occur at any time of year, but are more prevalent in the spring and summer months when it rains. However, during this particular week, you may be lucky to find a pot of gold at the end of it, but that’s only if a leprechaun decided to put it at the end of a rainbow!”

Regardless, there are many things you could do to try out your luck this week. They can include going to a casino, trying your hand at the lottery, asking that special person out on a date, playing card or board games, applying for a job, undergoing hospital treatment, taking an exam, and more! You are likely to have good luck on your side if you try anything out these next few days.

The peak of luck will be this Sunday, March 17. Afterwards, gold dust particles should begin to settle and eventually dissipate. Things should go back to normal in about one week. We wish all of our readers good luck in pursuing their goals and ambitions this week!

Q/A: Ask Nate

Dear Nate, are people's internet usage monitored?

By: Ion Yu

Hiya Ion! The internet is a fascinating tool, isn't it? As much as people love it, there are some important things to know such as your internet activity can be monitored!

The internet first appeared in the dream world in 1996. Its rollout was slow as only the DPF was authorized to use the internet for three years as a "test run" and for "business" purposes. Eventually, it was rolled out to the public in 1999. When that happened, people started buying computers and utilizing dial up to get things going. How times have changed!

With a brief history lesson wrapped, internet use in the dream world isn't without its risks. While you can easily find a lot of information on the internet, there are certain things that could get you in trouble! The IAA is in charge of monitoring suspicious internet usage among users in the dream world. Certain words, phrases, ideas, topics and themes are flagged when you search it up on the internet. If you search a particular thing too much, you may end up on a PIA list!

PIA refers to Peculiar Internet Activity, something that the IAA defines as "any material on the internet that is considered or deemed unacceptable by the IAA or by the Council of the dream world." But what exactly is deemed as "unacceptable?" That's hard to say. Certain topics about the real world can be seen as unacceptable as well as looking up information on Lucid. The system won't flag you for one or two searches, but if you dig a rabbit hole too deep, you'll be monitored!

Once you're on a PIA list, the IAA assigns an agent to track your activity when you're online. This information is kept on file until it is determined that your activity poses a security risk. The lesson? Just don't look up questionable or risky content too much, or else you'll get a knock on your door!

The internet is a wonderful tool, but you're not alone when browsing on it. Although its existence in the dream world is not long, it has its benefits as it also has its drawbacks. Remember, you're not always being watched on the internet here, but if you make two wrong moves or more, you better watch out!

Dear Nate, where does most of the crime in the dream world happen?

By: Uptoo Nogud

Hello Uptoo! As much as the dream world is a nice place, there are still bad people out there who do bad things. This leads to crime, but where does most of it even happen?

Crime can happen anywhere in the dream world. Even in the District, there are instances of crime that are committed against people, but the District does not have the highest crime! I discussed this before but the "dark corners" of the dream world have some of the shadiest kinds of crime. These are where wanted fugitives and bad people tend to reside, and these places give me the creeps!

These dark corners are not literally the corners of the dream world, but are areas you want to avoid big time. There aren't many DPF agents around those areas so it's easy to commit a crime and get away with it. The rural dream world is also no stranger to crime either. Since the rural dream world is pretty empty in most places, you could get away with something easy. It also makes it a bit hard for the DPF to investigate much out there as witnesses are low and there's only so much you can use to aid you.

All in all, crime does exist in the dream world, but I'd say you're relatively safe as long as you know your way around and know what areas to avoid. Like I said, if you ever need a guide, you can count on me to keep you safe!
