UNPRECEDENTED SNOW STORM TAKES OVER DREAM WORLD
By: Porter
A serious situation is currently unfolding.
These are the words from the Dimension Weather Prediction Service following an ‘unprecedented’ weather event that is currently underway. A massive snow storm has struck the general dream world catching many off guard. Residents had less than a week to prepare for such an event as the weather service was caught off guard as well.
“We had less than a week before conditions dramatically changed for the worst,” DWPS senior meteorologist Cirrus tells me, “This caught us completely by surprise. We only had so much time to prepare and alert the public.”
As the snow storm begins to blanket the rural dream world, many residents are worried and panicking over “strong” wording from the weather service.
“The DWPS is saying that this could mirror 2022, you know, when that freak snow storm happened,” Artisan of the Cafe told me, “So much snow piled up on the roadways out there. How are we going to travel?”
“A lot of us had to stay home because we literally couldn’t go outside,” Epsilon of the Apartments said, “Staying indoors for too long can be detrimental and I don’t want to repeat that.”
“They’re saying it might be even worse than the 2022 storm,” Kodia told me, “That snow storm blanketed so much of the wilderness that made it hard to work out here! It was a nightmare!”
The Dimension Protection Force has urged residents to stay indoors if possible and to avoid travelling. Patrol officers have been dispatched to close off certain roadways, but warned that emergency services could be suspended if they cannot travel through excess snow.
“We dispatched officers to help block off roadways to prevent unnecessary travel through certain areas. We want people to stay home as this storm passes,” DPF Director Ferekides stated, “However, this unprecedented event could prevent emergency services from reaching residents in need if conditions become too dangerous. Please heed our warnings and advice. This is not good.”
The weather service is unsure why such a massive snow storm is taking place during this time of year and why models failed to predict this at least two to three weeks ahead of time.
“This is very strange. Such a snow storm would be less ‘abnormal’ during January, maybe December,” Cirrus of the DWPS said, “But to see one in November is extremely odd and extremely concerning. This is not natural at all, but we can’t point fingers.”
The DWPS has been in contact with the DPF and sharing their weather data to the DIA and IAA branches of it. Chiefs Daiki and Kamaria, respectively, are analysing and reportedly preparing for a serious operation.
“We can’t comment on confidential information pertaining to the DIA and IAA regarding this particular matter at this time,” a DPF spokesperson said, “Any official information will come directly from either chief or the director.”
The DWPS says it does not know when the snow storm will let up as it is “unnatural” in nature.
“We really don’t know when this snow will let up and that’s what makes this extremely concerning,” Cirrus told me, “This isn’t natural or normal. We can only hope it doesn’t get as bad as 2022. Please take advice from officials seriously.”
This is a developing, serious story. Stay tuned to the Subliminal Tribune over the coming weeks for the latest information and updates. For official updates from officials, visit the DWPS and DPF’s websites for the latest.
OUTAGES STRIKE MULTIPLE AREAS WITH UNKNOWN CAUSES
By: Arial
If a massive snow storm wasn’t enough, widespread power outages are affecting the dream world.
According to the Dimension Power and Energy Company, they have received over 50 reports within the past three days regarding areas of the rural dream world whose power has been cut off. Most of these areas were previously dark as a result of decorating for Halloween, but now that the holiday is over, the power is not turning back on.
“We tried switching the lights back on here, but it’s not working,” Brie, a chef at the Parlor said, “It’s very weird. We’re glad we have candles, but we need power to do more work around here.”
“Power at the Drive-Thru is completely out,” a frequent customer told me, “Yeah they were dark for Halloween, but now they’re telling me that they have no power at all. Huh?”
DPEC says that these outages are unexpected and completely random. They are not sure what the cause of the outages are.
“These outages are very bizarre and we’re not sure what’s causing it,” DPEC chief Lumière stated, “We were already responding to a report of an outage at the Club, but now we’re getting reports of other outages in other areas. Something is not right.”
Chief Lumière said that crews have been sent to investigate and attempt to restore power, but with the ongoing snow storm, it only complicates things.
“The snow storm is complicating things for our workers and we’re not sure if power is going to be restored soon,” chief Lumière said, “We want people to avoid areas that are dark and honestly, just the roadways in general. If you must go out, carry a flashlight or some sort of lantern with you. We’ll try to restore power in areas as quickly as we can.”
The DPF has been notified of the string of outages and believe these are intentional in nature.
“We don’t think these are natural and believe someone is causing this on purpose,” a DPF spokesperson told me, “These reports have also been passed down to chiefs Daiki and Kamaria, who are already dealing with other material, but are coming together to analyze and attempt to figure out the next steps.”
Chief Lumière says that the power company should be able to handle the amount of outages, but they’re not sure if additional ones are expected.
“For the amount of outages there are in the dream world right now, I think our company can handle them in time,” the DPEC chief said, “We don’t know if other areas will go dark, but if this is intentional, we might see more outages in the dream world. If you encounter a dark area, please report it to DPEC. We’ll send crews out so long as conditions permit.”
